Is anyone else excited?

I saw it on G4 (With 2's graphics.)

But the premise is jsut awesome in my opinion.

A evil king is tormenting the land, and you get to led a rebel alliance to over throw said tyrant.

The TWIST!

it does not end there, on no. in the second half, you are the king!

And you must now deal with being in the role of king.

So will you try to keep your promises/ Be jsut as bad asthe old bastard?

Or worst?

Is that really what its going to be about?

That sounds pretty fun. I saw the teaser on the 360 but like all teasers didn't do much.

Any idea on a timeline? Next holiday year?

Hopefully they will not be forced to rush this and can get all the glitches out.

I loved Fable. Despised Fable 2.

So. I'll rent it. Do a two playthroughs(Pure Good, Evil Bastard) to see how it fits me.

I wasn't expecting this game so soon. I'm really excited. Fable II is the reason I bought a 360, and it was my favorite game of last year.

Just curious what didn't you like about Fable 2? I thought it was a superb game.

Before the patch the bugs made the game impossible to finish for many gamers due to only being able to have one save and that save getting corrupted all the time due to the autosave feature being wonky.

Something was missing for me, the first Fable made me feel so...Epic. Like I was actually the world's only hope for beating Jack, if I didn't, no one else could. And if I really wanted to take that sword and destroy everyone, then they were SOL.

In Fable 2 I was just the fourth hero, not only that, I was Heart. Not Fire, not Water, not Wind, not Earth, I was freaking Heart. By their powers combined, I'm slightly stronger than the guy I spent 20 years trying to rescue. Would the Chicken Chaser have taken that kind of abuse? HELL NO. Chicken Chaser came into a castle/dungeon/town, laid down a couple thousand in the pub, got drunk off his ass, and if he didn't get a girl, he murdered the town, bought it, then walked into the sunset.

Sparrow? She worked in a Forgery for her entire life. Did she get an epic battle to revenge her lost children and husbands? No. She had to watch the jackass who cost her several years of her life shoot the guy in the middle of his speech.

I hated that, it felt like I had no control over my life in Fable 2, in the first one, I rarely had to take that, yeah there was the prison part, but I was at the point where I could pretty much leave whenever I decided the scars were no longer attractive.

Also. Fuck Reaver.

Interesting. They're getting better at the morality stuff, but F2 focused waaay too much on expressions (at the expense of the rest of the gameplay, imho), and they completely screwed up the magic system.

A partial wishlist
- Keep the short/fat/tall thing, but add a way to mix and match your physical body type, so that a hero with some Skill wouldn't have to be tall, for instance. Maybe put the Tall modifier in food instead of skillpoints, like fat/thin was.
- Less emphasis on expressions.
- Scrap the F2 magic system, and either go back to the first one or do something completely new that in no way resembles the clunky ass charging 5 spells system from F2.
- Overhaul the income system. Scrap the "Earn money while you're logged off!" silliness. It was broken in F2 to the point that as long as you didn't mind a little corruption, (that you could easily undo anyway) you could be filthy rich well before the end of the game.
- Don't do anything that asks for a PC to find an NPC with a "light beard" or whatever the hell some of those impossible to determine kidnapping requirements were.

As long as at some point I get to messily kill Reaver, I'm happy.

I loved both games, but I will agree the magic system in 2 was petty bad compared to 1. Even when you had a spell maxed out it didn't really seem to do alot.

I loved Fable 2, which made the ending all the more difficult to stomach. It was a huge build-up with great potential, but the 'grand' finale sucked.
I wanted him to at least put up a fight. I mean, I'm not for stupidly hard-to-defeat villains, but a little challenge would have been nice. There wasn't a single moment in the game where I felt that my character was actually in any danger.

If you are an evil, corrupt, demon-looking monster that generally goes around butchering womever you run into, you should not be able to have crowds of people laugh at you as you blow farts. Or start proposing at the sight of your muscles.

Speaking of demon-looking... I don't like my characters looking like freaks. I don't wat horns or clouds of flies or haloes. Nor do I want blue lines all over my body if I use too much magic.

See I've heard this complaint about so many games. What I always find funny about this is my friend who doesn't have live. He's played through the game millions of times and never had a problem. Same thing goes for Fallout 3, so many people complained about similar problems.

Corrupted saves is a problem with many games. But usually they aren't a big problem. You just load an older save. With pre-patch Fable 2 you only had one save. And it often got corrupted. Meaning that you had to start completely from scratch.
Not always happened, but just once is kinda one time too much.

I agree that the Expressions system was kind of pitiful in Fable II. Really, I thought there were already enough systems running in the background that affect character perception that it was unneeded.

-Your clothing and appearance
-How famous you are
-Your actions as a landlord.

Each of these drastically changed people's feelings towards you. As in real life, the one dealing with money seemed to be the strongest of all. My character who was easy on the rent was amazingly popular. The one who over-taxed everyone was hated.

What I didn't like about part one is you age too fast. I saw my character aged freakin' quick. And it hasn't been 6 hours yet. I don't mind the aging system. Each time you completed a quest, I think you age by one year. But damn. I also didn't like how you have to keep your body in shape by eating enough meat, but not too much. It doesn't matter if you have your physique up. But hey, I guess is cool. I didn't like how the weapons look.

Part two had a good combat system IMO. I like it better than part one. But the magic system was bad. I don't mind charged magic but there should be an option where you want to stream your magic. And while the money was cool, it just makes the game way too easy. Just do the trick enough times and you're practically set for life. Or just leave the game for a while and play something else and then get back to it, BOOM! You just earned $10,000. I also didn't like the clothes in part two. I do like the expression wheel though. But you make friends too easily.

Part three is you become the king. (well that was quick)

EDIT: My mistake. It's each time you spend XP to level up your character. (read bold part)

While the game still only really treats them as cosmetic, I -like- the evil/good/magical transformations. I think they're part of the fun.

Still, they should have an option to turn that off. Sometimes I want my characters to look "normal". And this might be a bit much to ask for and I know it gets old, but I would to turn into a vampire. Just because I want to male a Kain character. (Even though I don't need to.)
