I HOPE it's "Wonder" ful (red, blue, gold, stars, eagle...not necessarily ALL of these, but that kinda WONDER ful) and WHEN will we see it? Anyone heard anything?

Hi Wonderman - nice avatar. :)

I'm kind of scared, because I love Donna's black starfield costume (drool). As such, it's hard to imagine the new one being better (please don't be like the black with red stars - hated that one). Still, I'll keep my fingers crossed and hope for the best.

I don't hate the starfield...but there's no wonder relation in it at all...I think that is a must for me!

Ya I worry about who will design it and how gaudy it's gonna look.
I don't need or want it to be WW related, infact I like it to be of her own look, she's an individual not WW.
I loved Phil's first design, I like the starfield affect and i don't need some honkin huge logo/symbol on her.
She needs to stay in pants and still have silver in the costume since now she is suppose to have a silver lasso.
someone recolorized the cover costume on her RoDT to red stars, I thought that looked rather sexy

I hope it draws inspiration from the Wolfman/Perez costume. It's easily her best, in my opinion.

Agreed. The starfield is too dark, no "wonder" in it. I wish thy'd just put her back in the red jumpsuit that she had in the Wolfman/Perez era. All the other Titans still have their original uniforms (save for Dick and Wally).

Peace,

Kyle

I think the red jumpsuit with a little update wouldn't be a bad thing... like the stars on this version? Not the costume itself, but the way the stars are arranged. I like that subtlety.

When/where was it said that Donna was getting a new costume? I don't follow Titans regularly so if it was there, I missed it...

I think she should have a hawk, which is now her bird, somewhere on her. I would like it to look more like one of her Troia costumes, then her Wonder Girl one. And it should def be silver in there. That is her color.

Now when will we see more of this Silver Lasso

Yes! As long as the black starfield costume does not have the lines of red stars on them, keep it as it is!

You know, they should just ask Phil to redesign a costume for her. I don't trust anybody else to do it right and make it look good.

It's weird, I've never really cared much either way about Donna, but I honestly feel like she's had several of the best-designed female costumes in comics. Her original was cute and sufficiently young-girlish; the red one with stars is just lovely; both her starfield costumes have worked very well, in my opinion; and her replacement Wonder Woman outfit was actually a lot prettier than Diana's normal costume, as far as I'm concerned. There have been some missteps, too, but in general she's got a pretty good track record.

At this point, I'd hate to see the starfield disappear. I think it's a neat design element! And I really liked this costume (http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v42/tyndyrn/wwiiijune07.jpg) even though I guess it never got used, so if they go with something distinctly Wonder Woman-related I'd love to see a variation on it. :)

Here it is...can't find link though...I'll look for it:

From Tortonto Expo 2009:

Speaking of Titans, with James Robinson bringing Donna Troy onto his upcoming Justice League, will she be getting a codename?

“She’s one of those people a nickname doesn’t stick to, like Jean Grey,” reasoned DiDio. “Troia was tough. She’s not going to be Wonder Girl anymore. Do you want to call her Darkstar? Not really. For us, Donna Troy stands for something, means something, and the name is recognizable so we’re just leaving it as is.”

The discussion then turned to Donna’s ever revolving costume.

“You’ve seen she’s gone through several costume incarnations and we’re trying to find one that sticks out a little bit more,” says DiDio. “There was talk about moving her back to the red costume for a little while, but that was too far back. We want to look at a way to present her in a way that feels contemporary and new for now, but still harkens back to the old costumes.”

Yeah, I really like the current one, too. It's modern AND still harkens back to the old costumes since it's pretty much the same cut as the famous red one in the Wolfman/Perez Era.

If they're really gonna follow through w/ a redesign to tie her closer to WW, I'd like for it to be minor tucks like an addition of breastplate and belt... but in silver. That's all. Maybe that's all she needs to break up all the black a bit.

From a costumier's pov, the red star-field costume http://i269.photobucket.com/albums/jj48/themysciranprince/donna6xcopy.jpg looks WAY too disco - and having recently tried on a dress of sequins, I can confirm it would be incredibly uncomfortable to wear!
I rather like the black starfield with the silver eagle on the chest. I do, however have problems with the high heels and strapless look - too hard to move in without falling out or over!
On the other hand, I have recently seen some lycra/spandex available that would make a good starfield costume. Must get back to that shop and buy enough to make my own Donna Troy costume.
Here are some WG costumes I've made in the past:

I'd like to see the starfield and silver highlights kept, but with some Wonder Woman iconography added in, like maybe the W emblem on the chest. A little red here and there wouldn't hurt either, but I don't know where it would go.

Honestly, what's wrong with Donna's most famous costume? The red one?

I get that all the other original Titans needed a costume change to signify their maturity, but since Donna and Diana are "sisters," there's not really any need to signify that Donna's grown up - she already was Diana's equal. Also, hers is the only sidekick costume that I think olds up as she grew up.

(plugging myself and the dc2 messageboards here...but i recently was asked to design a new troia costume-in dc2, donna was still wondergirl at the time. so i came up with something with influences from her current costume, her original troia/wondergirl costumes and an homage to wonder woman with the breastplate/cuffs

The one that she has now is like 500 times better? Of course this is IMO, but I'd be majorly disappointed to see her go back to her classic duds. The classic Red ones seriously belong to Cassie now, whose current costume sucks balls, honestly.

I'm going to chime in on this design too. I like it on many levels. The breastplate and belt break up the black. Donna would often get lost in crowd shots but with this, she would stand out. Also, it's a visual cue that this gal is somehow related to Wonder Woman (for those not in the know). And, as Wonder Woman's sister (and someone who briefly took on the mantle of Wonder Woman) it would make perfect sense for her to wear something like this.

Bravo Meek.

First of all, Mina, I absolutely love your art. But there's something about that piece that is just too Diana-like for me to really buy it as a conceivable costume for Donna. Now that we've seen explicitly that Donna has a silver lasso I really think silver should be her color. Maybe instead of black and silver, or red and gold, red and silver? Maybe meet in the middle that way?

This is all just my odd-ball opinion, of course.

I was trying to channel she-hulk, actually ;) If She-Hulk wore pants, (or jeans over her costume consistently) It'd be perfect.

And Seth, good call on the colors. I actually tried the silver (which in that kind of sketch I'd use blue, but it just didn't read. Yellow is more visible against red. I would use the silver accents on a full color drawing, ex: http://minarho1.deviantart.com/art/Young-Justice-Wonder-Girl-117435999 where I stress *tone* over color.

Yeah, I guess I can see that. Still, I just can't think of anyone but Diana when I see red and gold on an Amazon. Which is dumb, because other Amazons wear those colors as well, but I never claimed to be a genius.

Actually, my dream costume for Donna would be kind of like the Donna Wonder treatment earlier in the thread. I.E. her normal starfield costume but with the =w= and the w belt on it, but with Phil's halter neckline instead of the bustier top. It would just help to give her some flare that's different from her sister. Kind of like how in Amazons Attack (wince) Hippolyta had that red cloth behind her breastplate, and I thought that looked cool.

And maybe if she needs red on it somewhere, give her a tiara with a red star like Diana, but make hers silver?

that sounds really pretty. Maybe a red cape like the Dodson design? Black and Red can look really great together. But not like in her current Titans costume, the black starfield costume with RED stars on it. FUGLY!

I love Donna, and I do love here starfield costume. I was hoping if they changed her costume she would get her own symbol, like the moom symbol she had as goddess of the moon. Here are a few sketchest.

I'd prefer it with slightly tamer heels, if at all, but I think Meek's design is great.

Ditto. It's silly and stupid for superheroines to run around in high heels.

OH! I love them both-- utterly amazing designs! Can I try drawing them sometime? I'll credit you fully. Pretty please?

Thanks, I'm glad you like them. I would love to see your image of them.

I enjoy threads like this...just thought I would chime in. Here is design I did for Donna a while back. Forgive the crude art...all I had at my disposal at the time were some sharpies and crayola twistables! http://viewmorepics.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=viewImage&friendID=134433587&albumID=1386628&imageID=38161611

Wow, I like that a lot. I'm not sold on the yellow stripe, but otherwise it looks really good.

Thanks!! I have a bunch of sketches around the house of costumes for Donna...but that is one of my favorite ones.

Bravo Meek.

 Aww, dude. Thank you so much, AC. I'm really happy you dig and get the adjustments.

hahah! Thanks, trypr! I may have redirected the lack of heels on WW onto the lil' sis a bit. I'm cool w/ tamer also as long as she has 'em. Donna's a stylish heels type o' superheroine. Part of a dying and sexy breed.

quick sketch. 20 min, photoshop

A "conventional" costume design, I guess?

Very Ultimate Donna Troy/Wonder Woman! Nice stuff, Mina.

Peace.

oooo i didnt know she was getting a new costume! that is cool!!!when was this announced?

(plugging myself and the dc2 messageboards here...but i recently was asked to design a new troia costume-in dc2, donna was still wondergirl at the time. so i came up with something with influences from her current costume, her original troia/wondergirl costumes and an homage to wonder woman with the breastplate/cuffs

if dc needs any help! contact me!lol

also how cool is it that there is a wonder woman board!!!!!its about time!

I find this design interesting...though, I would like to see it with boots that don't go above the knee.

I wonder what the actual costume will look like in the Justice league. I'm excited and a little nervous at the same time! :)

Pardon me if this has already been answered, but does anyone know who's designing the look that will be used in JLA? Is it Bagley?
