I recently checked out the demo for the game Shadow Complex on my roommate's X-Box. It's been hyped as a Metroid / Castlevania inspired 2-d explorer. As a fan of those games, I loved what I saw in this. Then I looked up the credits and saw comics scribe Peter David worked on the script. I also read a review that pointed out that it's a spin off of a novel series by Orson Scott Card. Of course the paper mentioned some controversy due to Card's more right wing standings on some issues as it was the Boston Phoenix. Still, I think I may have to pick this up as it was pretty much a new Metroid game dressed up like Metal Gear Solid.

Orson Scott Card does not have 'more right wing standings'.

He's a horrible little bigot who is working hard towards getting homosexuality criminalised again.

Yeah, but I hear he's a good sci fi author. Now, aside from that, Mrs. Lincoln, how was the play?

The game's fantastic. It's like Metroid meets Metal Gear.

Actually, for those afraid buying the game supports homophobia, I think it balances out. You have anti-homosexual author Card. Then you have Peter David writing the script who recently caused a bit of a stir by outing two X-Men characters as gay and made them a couple kissing on panel. Well, actually I think one of them stated he was bi ealier in the series, but whatever. So, yeah, I guess it balances it out.

The game barely has a story, it's super metroid, it's fun.

I have yet to see a mention of evil liberals taking over the country in shadow complex, just evil people.

I'm going to say Card's involvement in this game was taking a check.
