What is Superman never left New Krypton? I am beginning to believe that DC is removing Superman from his core titles Superman and Action Comics longer than people expect for several reasons. First in James Robinson's JLA it looks like Mon-El is replacing Superman on the team, Superman is viewed as humans in a negative light now due to recent actions in the latest Superman issue 691, in future solicitations it appears Kal-El is taking on a more active role in the Kryptonian military and seems to be more trusting and accepting of Zod's prescence and ideals. General Lane and the humans were the aggressor in recent conflicts besides Zod's attempted invasion of Earth a couple of years ago during Johns and Donner's run . However Kal-El won't be happy when he finds out about the sleeper cells run by Ursa and Zod but I think Zod put those sleepers as a contingency plan rather as a hostile covert act, at least that is my interpretation.

It seems to me that Kal-El is enjoying himself among his people and liking his new role. My two questions is do you subscribe to my theory because the hot trend in comics right now is mantles being passed down to another generation: Dick Grayson as the new Batman, Bucky Barnes as new Captain America, Daken has the Dark Wolverine title, Banner is no longer the Hulk and has his son Skaar the main Hulk in Incredible Hulk, Red Hulk in Hulk, and Hiro Kala in Son of Hulk. Not to mention what is currently going on in Superman with Nightwing and Flamebird in Action and Mon-El in Superman.

Do you think they want to start a New Krypton monthly after the 2010 event with Superman at the helm, and Mon-El or Superboy or Nightwing becomes the new Metropolis Superman, and if that were to happen would you be mad, upset, or would you like the new status quo?

No, he will return to Earth when the story ends next year. Earth is his home and he's too much of an outsider among his people. Not to mention Lois, Martha, Perry, Jimmy, Pete and Lana are still there along with his costumed allies. Clark's only assuming leadership command because he doesn't trust Gor and Ursa's not in any shape to be leading the military.

Mat, I agree that is probably what would happen but how about if Superman does stay on New Kypton for the forseable future? Would you personally like the new status quo? I can imagine a great book which takes places entirely on New Krypton with Kal El leading the military and the dynamics of the situation. There could also be a Battle for the Cape with possibly Chis Kent(Lor Zod), Superboy and Mon-El competing be called the New Superman on Earth. Personally would you like a new status quo like that or what is predictably going to happen?

Mat, would you personally like that new status quo of Kal-El not returning?

I'd like to see an ongoing Superman World of New Krypton title, i've always felt that as one of DC's biggest names he should have more than 1 or 2 titles, I mean Batman has loads of titles as well as those considered the Batman Family. Plus Action Comics wouldn't be Action Comics without Superman and Superman would have to change its name to Mon-El if he didn't return. I expect him to be basically an outsider and not trusted by anyone on earth for the next year or so and then returns in 2010 and saves the world again and is loved by all

Well, the Siegel family are due to get back the Superman trademark in 2013, and we've seen how DC reacted when they lost the trademark to Superboy. I don't think it's likely, but the idea that DC is keeping Clark off-world and limited to his Kal-El identity (which I believe DC owns outright) to show the Siegels what the can do if pushed... I think that's possible.
