What are your exact thoughts on The Blob?

I'm just curious about everyone else's opinion on The Blob. Do you love him, hate him, like him, and why? All you guys should know that I love The Blob.

i voted 'he's ok' because i dont love him, nor do I hate him. :) usually im not one for villains for the most part they are usually very evil douchenozzles who seek to kill us, destroy the world, or something of that nature, The Blob is not as bad as that though, I do like his being huge and that helps give him powers. and he doesnt seem as 'evil' as other villains. I certainly do not dislike him. and he does have a funny side. :)

I have a soft spot for the Blob, since he was the main villain in the first X-Men comics I ever read, a reprint of Uncanny #3.

He's a great support villain, not a major player like Doom or Magneto but cool as part of a team.

I never thought of them as being overexposed, but I'm more of a '90s guy when it comes to X-Men. So, to me "overexposed" summons up images of Apocalypse, Sinister, Magneto and the Acolytes.

Anyway, what I mean by "low-key" is that none of the Brotherhood are characters on the high-power Magneto/Apocalypse level. I see the Brotherhood characters as being roughly the mutant equivalent of the Flash's Rogues Gallery. They're low-powered, blue-collar schlubs who can't help but like despite all the nasty stuff they do.

i dunno. he's crude and dirty. but his actual acts of criminality are few and far between. he's not your standard bank robbing villain. he'll fight for pretty much any cause as long as their a fight and a sandwich in it for him. his initial villainy came about because of the X-Men's interference. he was just a carnival worker.

Never before has a character in X-Men comics been so unabashedly and consistently selfish prick. Go find his Dirty Deeds thread. He gleefully boasted of stealing the Inferno babies. He's beat up rodeo clowns and then the actual rodeo steer because he could (assault, and cruelty to animals). He continuously took pleasure in beating the crap out of Rusty Collins, a poor innocent kid, and carted him off to jail for kicks. He once tried talking Mastermind into making Jean Grey see him as Scott so he could rape her.

Blob is a villain, through and through. And that's why I like him. I can count on him to be the bad guy, so I root for the X-Men to kick his fat ass.

He's good enough, that I did Dirty Deeds w/ Blob (http://forums.comicbookresources.com/showthread.php?t=253491) months ago, and enjoyed researching him a great deal. So yeah, there's that.

To be honest, when I decided to go to the origins and begin reading X-men from the very first issue and saw him at the beginning of Uncanny (I think it was Ish 4 or 5 or something like that) I didn't like him, but I guess it was just because at the time all the villains were... I don't know if dull is the word I'm looking for. I'd go for vintage. And there weren't many things to help tell them apart, except for their powers. They were all just "the most terrible enemy we have ever faced" in a different packaging.
Later on, I began to appreciate him a little more. I mean, he can be whimsical as a child and stubborn as a bull, but I think that makes him more human and I like that in characters. I've met several people whose personalities resemble the Blob so I think he's the best he can be given the small part he plays in most plots. After all, he's a villain and most people dislike him so... I believe he's made a decent job so far, doing what's expected of him as a character.
