Just curious and was wondering what kind of numbers we have here on this forum.
Do you have any children?
How many?
Any adopted kids?
How do you find being a father or mother? are you good at it?
Thanks.

Cats count! We have two 'kids', two tabbies Psycho and Artemis.
My fiancee and I are planning on having kids once I graduate and after we get the house.
We've talked about it at length and we'll have a handful of our own kids but we want to adopt two or more (depending on how much I'm making)
There's an ungodly number of kids out there right now that need families but are older and are usually s.o.l when it comes to being adopted. Everyone wants a cute lil' baby so kids 5 and up are just overlooked.
She and I talked and we felt that we should 'go against the norm' as it were and adopt an older child.

Cats do count. They need lots of looking after. They are very dependent.

Sounds very sensible to me. :) there are lots of children out there that need parents and dont have any.

I'm not sure, really. 1 for certain.

No.

I enjoyed it. I'm sure my report card was mixed. Good and bad. I can only hope I spent more time on the good side.

I have three boys. Ages 23, 13 and 8. Since I didn't know the 23 year old existed until he was 15, I'll reserve judgment on whether there are any more.

I have a boy who will be 4 at the end of November, and a girl who will be 2 in a couple of weeks.
This is what they look like:

I'm just joshing you.
It's a pretty odious flick nonetheless. And I have a more-or-less open mind to watch most movies, no matter what the subject matter or amount of violent content. "Kids" made me ill.

Well yeah so no (opted for: do pets count?).
As yet I'm not much more than a goofball uncle I'm afraid.
Kind of pathetic huh. But maybe according to some it might be for the better.
And technically my biological clock is still ticking more or less.
Now I feel like a tapdance which is sorta rare :frown:.

I see no baby goats on this thread.
Seriously, I don't like kids, I guess I'm one of those people who has to have a kid before I can understand,
Besides, society would not benefit from ME as a role model
Me 19 & 12. My daughter and I travel alot together. I have pets tooo. Luv the kids! don't know what I would have done without them. Accuiring them wasn't easy, miscarages where abundance, and hospital stays were rocky. They made it though and soo did I. My Miracles.

Yes.
How many?
One... that I know of. Men can rarely be sure of these things.
Any adopted kids?
No.
How do you find being a father or mother?
I didn't find it. It found me.
Seriously, there's never been anything that I've loved so much as I've loathed it.
are you good at it?
I suppose so. Kid has survived 16 (almost 17) years without serious physical or psychological damage, and likewise for myself.
And two cats and a dog.

Question: why the separate question for adopted kids?
Answer:
four kids, daughter 16, son 14, twin son & daughter who are ten.
Also, one dog & four cats.
I know. I don't know WHAT I was thinking adding the dog.

I chose pets but that's because I refuse to have kids biologically. I might adopt, but at 28, I don't feel ready to make the decision yet. So for now, my pets are my children. And I love them as such. If I do adopt, I only want one.

If I do adopt, I plan on adopting an older child, too. Like around 8-9 or above. Just because they're not babies doesn't mean they're not special in their own right. Because they deserve love just as much. And frankly, I want a kid with a personality already. I also am opposed to dirty diapers, teething, and sleepless nights.

Two boys aged 14 and 10.
Being a daddy is the best job I ever had. I understand now how elderly parents can look at their 60-odd years old children and still feel protective... a parent's love really redefines a person.
It's too bad neither of my boys cares about my comic-books! They'd have started their collecting days with a big headstart!

A six year old girl and a two year old girl. I like to think I am doing a pretty good job.
When they are teenagers, they'll magically get two new uncles that all potential boyfriends will also meet- Smith and Wesson, maybe Colt. If need be, they'll get a "foreign" uncle- Uzi.

I always wanted to use Rodney D's line, " 3 kids, one of each!", but I'd be lying. I've two kids, one of each. Son is 21 and daughter is 17. Raider said it best, I think it's the best thing I've ever done. I often say I didn't start to become the person I am now until I became a father. Love those kids...

Nope. 'Cept for my friends' little ones and my little niece and nephew!
How do you find being a father or mother? are you good at it?
Um..I think so. I kinda had a 'tryout' once when an ex told me that her baby was mine. We had plans to marry, but then it turns out, it wasn't mine. Long story short. And I really, REALLY felt bad about leaving the kid(s), she had another, but they weren't mine and out emotional attachment was not exactly there, and they were little enough where there was, hopefully, no emotional damage or anything. :frown:
