I dropped all the Superman monthly books a while ago, but I'd like to get back into them via trade. Specifically, I'm looking for the main series trades since One Year Later. I don't want to get hardcovers so specifically just the trades that have come out. Am I missing anything from the list?

Superman: Up, Up and Away
Superman: Last Son
Superman: Escape from Bizarro World
Superman and the Legion of Superheroes
Superman: Camelot Falls Parts 1 and 2
Superman: The Third Kryptonian
Superman: Shadows Linger

Add in the following.

"Redemption", "The Coming Of Atlas", "Brainiac" and "World Of Krypton" volumes one and two and the upcoming release of "Final Crisis: Legion Of 3 Worlds". "3-2-1 Action" is optional.

Also, how far back did you last pick up a comic?

I actually stopped right around New Krypton. I just figured One Year Later was a good starting point for the trades, since I want to grab the Geoff Johns' run. I dropped most of my books last year, and have started making more of a switch to trades. I'm holding off on stuff like New Krypton until they get the tpb treatment(don't want to shell out the extra $ for hardcover). Thanks for letting me know about all the other trades. That should get me up to date with everything. Other titles like Supergirl I'm just picking up with the trade that happened right around New Krypton.

Yeah, okay. I just wanted to have a proper time frame so I don't list a trade when you have the singles from before. Or what not.

Action Comics #850 is in "Supergirl: Beyond Good & Evil", but the rest of that trade is kinda hit and miss in terms of quality. Supergirl #34 is not collected and serves as a set-up to what Kara's doing right now.

So Last Son comes directly after Up, Up and Away? Just double-checking.

There's "Back In Action", which I forgot to mention. It comes right after "Up, Up & Away". But then "Last Son" comes next.

Do the books even hint at which order they should be read in?

Wouldn't the 1st part and last part of Last Son have a bunch of stuff in between them, since Chris was in a lot of the Superbooks while they were waithing on the Last Son delays?

No and I'll explain in a moment.

Yeah, I was going to talk about this, but wasn't sure without trying to spoil too much or confuse Jakra64.

The Superman books when these stories were initially published had a setback in terms of delays. As a result a few fill-in issues were done and other stories were bumped up from their original publication date. "Last Son" in particular had lengthy delays of a few months up to a whole year. During this time period, Kurt Busiek had decided to expand on a central character from "Last Son" and used him during the latter part of his run on Superman. These stories were later refered to in the conclusion of "Last Son" which came out in 2008, one year after the last part published in Action Comics. So as a result, the trades do not contain a numbered reading order. DC generally doesn't do that, unlike Marvel. Unless it's a volume one and volume two situation. The actual story order in terms of single issues, following "Up, Up & Away" and "Back In Action" would be something like this:

Action Comics #844-845, up to the last four pages of the latter book.
Superman #654-664, #666-667 and Annual #13.
Action Comics #848-849.
Superman #668-675.
Action Comics #845, the last four pages.
Action Comics #846-847, #851 and Annual #11.
Action Comics #855-857 and #858-864. "Escape From Bizarro's World" and "Superman & The Legion Of Super-Heroes". Then you'd go to "3-2-1 Action".

It's confusing, but that's pretty much how the timeline works between the two main Superman books. Not counting JLA, JSA and guest appearences in various DCU books. Today, all Superman titles are on schedule and fill-in artists are used as necessary.
