Detective,mystery manga series

Im looking for good crime,detective stories. Prefer that its licensed so i can read it in books.

It can be twisted stuff like MP Pyscho, or comedy. I have seen a few like Freesia ?

Just so its crime,about solving crime or something.


P.S Dont recommend Conan detective series or any other series that star small kids.

Death Note i have already read.

I suppose you could like Lupin III. Is about a thief, the Grandson of Arsene Lupin (From the Matt Leblanc stories). I can't tell you much about it, since I've only watched a handful of episodes but it's a fun, crime related and not starring kid manga.

You could also try Magic Kaito. It's about another thief, more within the Arsene Lupin mold than Lupin III, called Kaito Kid. His father, a famous thief, was murdered by a ''mysterious organization'' because he wouldn't steal a jewel for them. He bows to steal the Jewel befor the organization can (it's said it gives people immortality) and he becomes a jewel thief (taking the Identity of his father ''Kaito'' with the kid given by the police) to locate the Jewel.

The only problem with Magic Kaito is that the author worked on it at an irregular pace since his other manga Detective Conan, became a hit. Kaito Kid constantly appears in the Conan Manga but Conan has never appeared in Kaito's.

I strongly recommend Detective Conan, actually. It can get a bit silly and light-hearted at times, but the characters are awesome (and can get impressively clever).

I tried that series long time ago and its okay but not for me. It was too much Sherlock Holmes wannabe but without the quality of Conan Doyle. Its a cosy mystery type series and i hate those, Agatha Christie,co are pointless to me.

I'll second both of those. I ended up doing a marathon read of Monster because I just couldn't put that book down.

Im reading Monster,trying to catch up to the books.

Pluto is a given, the mangaka is special to me. Monster was one of the first quality Seinan manga i read a few years ago.

Can't say this enough, but Monster. Only crime manga I actually enjoy. And it deals with psychology in a way that doesn't make it Evangelion-ish.

Defense Devil is pretty good (granted it's probably not licensed yet.)

Aside from that, the Count Cain/GodChild series are pretty twisted.
