Nicely done! I really liked Secret Identity, too.

I object slightly though to your labeling of Superboy Prime's origin as "wonky". That stuff really happens! Please don't crush the fantasies of fanboys and fangirls everywhere who are waiting for the day when they wake up with supa-powa! :frown:
I believe a man can fly!!

On a serious note, it's worth mentioning that the origin in Secret Identity has some extra scientific plausibility over SBP's...IIRC the main character's mind was subconsciously instrumental in shaping the effects of the alien force (what is it a comet? I can't remember) on his body.

But again, very good review. Well-written with thoughtful analysis and warm praise that will hopefully encourage many others to read the book.

Thanks for the kind words!

It's interesting that you bring up his origin because I've read the book a bunch of times and I don't remember it ever being explicitly stated where he did actually get his powers from. I quite liked that actually because, in the end, it isn't really the point.
