Hey, I couldn't find a good general area to post this in, so I'm posting it in both the main DC and Marvel forums.

I'm just doing a quick straw poll about whether your LCS carries manga at all, how much it carries, if the store owners tried but couldn't make it work, why it didn't work, etc.

Thanks!

Originally started carrying it, didn't sell well, and then B&N, Borders, etc... really started selling it so he stopped. You can order it and he'll get it in for you if you want. Of course there is also an anime/manga store in the area so why bother.

Both the shops I frequent do -- and in one the format is their best seller.

Forbidden Planet in Dublin.

Upstairs there is a huge section all dedicated to manga.

It sells very well I am told.

I don't think we have a comic shop in my town. Not anymore, at least.

We have two bookstores, though, and both sell manga. (Their inventory isn't the best, though.)

My local comic shops are in Brighton so I don't normally trek that far. I use online shopping or nearer bookshops.

All of the above stock manga.

It would be stupid not having any manga specially the popular ones.

I started even going to my LCS cause of the manga i read. In those days in early 2000s like 2001 it was like a small shelf with manga. Now its more like 60% manga and 40% american, european comics.

Which is perfectly fine with me. Except their manga is a few percent more expensive these days than another comic shop in town.

Before it closed, my LCS started out as an Manga/Anime shop and over time started carrying American and Brittish comics, Then they dropped the Brittish comics because they weren't selling, Then they started carrying Action Figures, and anime/Superhero statues etc and then buissness was going to hell so they started selling Swords, Knives and Shuriken... Then they started selling cards and organized tournaments and then Buissness went to hell and they closed...:frown: Now I'm stuck with a world class douchbag out of an owner who banned me out of his store because I don't like Star Trek, LOFTR nor MARVEL or care for any Science fiction outside Star Wars and Superman. Not. Fucking. Kidding You. That motherfucker came right out of the Simpsons! So now a friend buys my pull list for me, except for TPBs, those I just get out of a bookstore. FUKCING MONOPOLYSM!!!!

Sorry, but common man, He is a douchbag!!!

Ojala y estes leyendo esto David, PENDEJO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
