Okay, so I went and got myself hooked on a manga series that's no longer being sold in regular bookstores (I had read the first volume ages ago, wasn't thrilled with it and put it aside. Years later I read it again and am hooked). Amazon doesn't look like it'll be much help either. So, does anyone know of a good site to buy manga volumes from? I figure you folks would know.

I've bought out-of-print manga from milehighcomics.com a few times. It's an awesome online comic shop, though their shipping rates to Canada are a bit high and depending on the book, it can be a bit pricey.

There's also abebooks.com (now owned by, but not indexed on, Amazon), but their shipping costs are obscene. I've paid $1 for books and up to $15 for shipping and "handling."

But shipping and handling are a rant for another post.

http://www.rightstuf.com is pretty well known. Don't use it myself, but they tend to stock everything. www.animecornerstore.com is also well known.

There's also DiamondComics.com- if you look around order form archives, you can find order codes to use at your local comic shop. It's not as good as it used to be, but it's still a good option for finding stuff that isn't as easy to find at bookstores. Also, some comic shops use other distributors that might have what you're looking for.

Again, don't shop online myself, but I browse online stores from time to time for price and release info.
But another site I've heard about is http://www.abebooks.com/ which is a massive used book retailer- good spot for bargains on OOP stuff.

They take orders too so if they don't stock what you need currently, I'm sure something could be worked out.

That one might be a little tough for those of us who can't really read much Japanese. :frown:

I don't know if the English versions have what you are looking for though. Still worth a try.
