I thought it was a really good game. Now, I'm currently waiting for my copy of Planescape Torment from ebay to come. I just wanted to ask a few questions.
Are any of the two sequels to gabriel knight worth playing? and, are any of Jane Jensens novels worth reading?

No clue. Heard of the GK games, never played them nor have i read the novels.
I DID buy the DnD Planescape set and auxillary items when it came out, and being a bioware fan from Bauldurs Gate, i of course bought Torment. Loved it, and has a compelling story based off the silly old chestnut:"You don't remember your past, and it is catching up to you...".
Plus, you are going to die. Probably several times. Seriously. And it will be for your own good.

Yes, definitely. "The Beast Within" is excellent. "Blood of the Innocent, Blood of the Damned" I didn't like as much, but it's still pretty good.

I very much enjoyed the first two games. I didn't think the third was quite as good, but it was still worth playing IMO.
