Not sure if it's a series, OVA or movie..don't care either. It's Berserk, so it's mine.

Hope it's a new series. After the finale for the last adaptation, we need a new one to do Berserk justice.

Wow, the art looks amazing, kinda makes me wonder if this will be an OVA rather than a series.

It could just as easily be a cutscene for a game or a promotional piece to get funding for a project. Let's not get too excited before we know more.

That's definitely post-Eclipse Casca. I've got to assume it's a sequel to the previous series, so where that ended with the Eclipse, this will probably begin with it.

The stills look nice. I'm optimistic.

Yeah, I didn't know they were going to make another series. I couldn't believe they would have stopped with the Eclipse.
I know, I should have bought the comics, but I have been so fascinated from the tv series I decided to wait a little bit, waiting for a sequel. Than I forgot about the all thing. And I find this thread. Let's see if I can get some more info from the web... :evilsmile:

Berserk is hands down my favorite Anime of all time. If they were to do a follow up, I would indeed be filled with glee. Lots of glee.

god whats going on with all this computer animated character effects, what ever happened to people just drawning the damn demons and dragons by hand.

Aside from the story going even further, reading the manga is worth it for the artwork alone.

It's too hard and too expensive, and it doesn't result in assets that are reusable.

Computer-animated effects wise, it's a tad bit late to start complaining considering it's been in use since 2000.

I'm pretty sure there isn't a single studio in Japan still using hand drawn cels. They're all at least colored by computers. It's simply not viable to use traditional cels. Most animation is done on comptuers now. Period. Now most still use hand drawn cels, they're just all digital now.

And as for 3D animation, even Miyazaki uses it in some scenes. Though he masks it quite well and blends it in with the tradition animation. I was surprised to find even as far back as Mononoke he used 3D computer animation. So I really dont mind its use as long as it looks good in the end. As long as it looks like Howl's Moving Castle or Mononoke and not Shrek or Transformers 2, I'm fine with animators using these tools.

I hardly ever even visit this part of CBR, but I am a die hard dark fanasty and anime guy. Wow...Berserk is a CLASSIC series...Gutz killing folk again is awesome.

I'd sure like to get a confirmation on where these images are from.

I've been wanting Season 2 of Berserk since S1 finished airing.

I just don't want to get my hopes up or anything.

At least, Dark Horse isn't going to continue using the cut rate paper on the manga that they tried out for the last volume.

Anyone ever check out the Playstation 2 game that takes place after the eclipse? There was also a Dreamcast side story game, but this one uses scenes and events from the manga. Only came out in Japan sadly. That's the closeest I've heard to this yet.
