I've always liked Steven Blum (Spike Speigal), Crispin Freeman (Alucard), Wendee Lee (Faye Valentine), and Mary Elizabeth McGlynn (Major Motoko Kusanagi).

These four are by far my favorites. I also find it really neat/cool that they do so many shows together.

David Hayter-not only did has he done a few anime and game voices (Most famously Snake from Metal Gear), he also was one of the screenwriters on the X-men movies.

Cam Clarke (Most famous to anime fans as Max from Robotech and Liquid Snake from Metal Gear) is also pretty good. His credits include a ton of American stuff as well.

Steve Blum, Wendee Lee.

Hard to say, mostly. My favorite non-anime voice actor is Jim Cummings (Tigger, and half the 'additional voices' in every Disney cartoon ever).

I agree with your four, except for different roles for three of them...

Crispin Freeman (Straight Cougar), Wendee Lee (Haruhi Suzumiya), and Mary Elizabeth McGynn (Bloodberry).

I also like Lisa Ortiz as Lina Inverse and that Queen from The Irresponsible Capt. Tylor (her name escapes me right now). Roger Smith's voice in Big O is a good one - not sure who does him, though. Richard Cox does a great Ranma and InuYasha. Ted Cole as Tatewaki Kuno and Durandal (Gundam Seed Destiny) was excellent.

My favorite English voice actor is R. Martin Klein (Katsuhiko Jinnai - El Hazard). He's also done Season 2 Hanagata (Sabre Marionette J), Me-Mania (Perfect Blue), and Kotaro Nanbara (Hand Maid May). Wendee Lee (overall) is a close second.

Oh, and Mark Hamil is great as Muska in Castle in the Sky.

I remember back when I had arguments with my friends that Shishio and Roger Smith were voiced by the same person.

You forgot his role as Robotnik (arguably the best depiction of the character in the Sonic franchise) and Negaduck.

He was Darkwing too.

Here's his imdb listing: http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0191906/

Other notables: Current Tigger, Pooh, Pete...Rasoul from Aladdin, Minsc (and others) from Baldur's Gate, Fuzzy Lumpkins from Powerpuff Girls, to name a few.

A lot. Mostly a lot of additional voices, like I said...and you can usually tell it's him. Even his different voices have a similar rough quality to them.

Watching the Dub of Tylor the first time creeped me out. I was too used to the sub and Azalyn was throwing me for about five minutes until I recognized the voice and screamed "LINA INVERSE!?!"

Also Freeman just didn't seem quite... laconic enough for Tylor. Certainly a good effort though.

Favorite Anime is easy:

- Gundam Seed Destiny
Just barely tops Gundam Seed imo.

Favorite Manga is a bit harder...

- Naruto
I havent read all that much, but so far it beats the few I actually have read.

Thanks for the name - Azalyn. :)

And thanks to LordEd1976 for telling me who played Roger Smith in Big O - strange that I never noticed the similarity between his voice and Spike's at all.

I only saw Tylor in dub format, so I never had the sub effect impacting my take on it.

Overall, while Ortiz can't alter the sound of her voice at all (I could almost instantly tell that Azalyn was being played by 'Lina Inverse'), she does have a good emotional range. Ortiz as Azalyn never sounded as... chaotic as Lina... and manage to capture the emotions of the character nicely.

I was satisfied with Freeman's work as Tylor, but it wasn't his strongest work, imo.

Man, I forgot to mention Stephanie Sheh. I've always been impressed by her voice work as Eureka, Mikuru and Orihime(on top of several others), but her role as Akira from Lucky Star simply stunned me. I've been so used to her portraying Yandere characters(even labeling her as strict Yandere VA) that I was simply caught off-guard by her performance. Suffice to say, I'll never underestimate that girl's range again. Ironically, I made a similar assumption years ago about JYB when I heard he would play as Ichigo in Bleach based on his work in Trigun and was similarly (if not as dramatically) amazed.

Have to respect the winzors of Luci Christan and Machelle Ruff. Luci defines the spunky and wild heroine or tsundere of power. Michelle is a perfect Yoko and Rukia and I love her euphemia to.
