I'm waiting to hear back from Karl Kesel.

Most likely? It was just cancelled until the art is finished.

That wouldn't really be canceled so much as having the release pushed back indefinitely though, canceled would be completely cut.

No. Occassionally Marvel will cancel a book when they have no estimated release date.

Happened with Ultimate Wolverine Vs. Hulk and Iron Man: Viva Las Vegas.

Yeah, but if they still plan to finish it eventually that's not really canceled.

I really hope this is just delayed.... I just read Grunt Line last night and loved it. I want more.

Delayed??? Given the solicits and what's been going on in the last 3 Apes specials, I was hoping this issue would have the Marvel Apes vs. Marvel Zombies smackdown. Please, Marvel...don't hold out on me.

im still p-oed about the Twelve. Im really sick of Marvel pulling this crap, or at the least letting the talent pull this crap

You think that's weird? Check this out:

http://www.amazon.com/Marvel-Apes-Evolution-Starts-Here/dp/0785139915/ref=wl_it_dp?ie=UTF8&coliid=I25UY2MX8AUFLQ&colid=235PCSG1BAAR8

A few possibilities:
1) The Prime Eight cancellation hasn't caught up to this solicit yet;
2) Prime Eight will be in the TPB but not elsewhere;
3) The TPB will be pushed back.

If you read the solicit for the Trade, it mentions having never released content.

So it looks like they're adding it to the trade to boost sales on the trade.

Oddly it is still listed on Marvel, solicited for 7/6

I really hope that is not the case. I won't be buying a trade when I have most of the content already.

Anyone have any word on this?

I think Prime Eight is replaced by Marvel Zombies vs. Marvel Ape one shot.

Hmmm... That's possible. I was thinking that we would see both.... but as long as MZ vs. MA isn't supposed to take place after P8.

Maybe it has been delayed until after the Marvel Zombies one-shots due to some impact that the story has on those characters?

Yeah, I have no interest in comics on computer. I want to know when it will be released as a comicbook.

It's listed as being in the "Marvel Apes:The Evolution Starts Here" trade paperback, which I'm going to order this weekend, I lost my copy of Grunt Line and I really want to read the "Prime Eight" one-shot although I think that while the Zombies might around awhile longer the Apes will be gone after the "Evil Evolution" one shot next month.

That's pretty much correct, I know that at my local comicbook shop the owner said he had only ordered one copy of Grunt Line and that was for me since I was the only person that bought all for issues of the original mini-series or any of the other one-shots.

Cause nobody would buy it?

Y'know, on some level I wouldn't have a problem with that if it sucked and they simply canceled it. But... they're selling it in a trade, so clearly they think people will buy it.

It looks like they solicited a four-issue series, published three issues of it, and then only printed the fourth repackaged with the other three, apparently hoping to milk extra money out of those who bought into the series in the first place.

I'm hoping there's more to the story, but it sure appears to be a pretty scummy move.
