View Full Version : I've tried to sort out Professor Hugo Strange's continuity

Over the last few months, in one setting or another, I've occasionally said I intended to finish whipping into shape, and then post, a lengthy examination of Hugo Strange's continuity. (This mission began when someone questioned my assertion that Hugo was essentially "rebooted" in the Post-COIE era, with all his old stories going down the toilet!)

Two days ago the silly thing was finally posted on our friendly neighborhood "Comics Should Be Good" blog -- and since I see no need to post the same thing twice in different corners of the same site, I'll just offer a link for my fellow Batman fans on here:

Timeline: The Shifting Continuity of Hugo Strange (http://goodcomics.comicbookresources.com/2009/08/15/lorendiacs-timeline-the-shifting-continuity-of-hugo-strange/)

If I overlooked anything significant, please let me know!

Nice job. But I agree with the comments that Monster Men is most likely in current continuity. It and and its sequel seem to be very specifically written to fit between Year One and The Long Halloween. Hell, Mad Monk's ending directly leads to the opening of The Man Who Laughs: currently canon as Batman's first post-crisis Joker case.

Regarding Strange's height, I figure any mad genius who can make Monster Men can surely figure a way to make himself taller.
Also, I just checked, and Monster Men does say that Strange is the former head of psychiatry at G.S.U. Like any good mad scientist, he must have double-majored.
