3d renders are pretty sweet. But make the real Dazzler plz kthx.
It's just that she looks like an African-American cross dresser. Don't blame you, though.

It was probably being abuse by people so the mods likely got rid of it.:)

Hey, should I hold you to that? You pose, I'll do DiscoDazz, updated for the aughts. Besides, I need a few more guys to complete my series anyway. At least on Valentine's Day I added another to the list...:evilsmile
This one is for FTGoX and Veggie Goat, as promised from almost two years ago! Kinda disco, but for 2007 - more glam fashion chick than anything else. I figure I'd do it for them as well as the CBRunway Play Along.

Haha! Salamat ha! Pero hindi ako magaling sa sequential art - puro poses lang ako ngayon - wala akong practice!
Actually, hate ko ngayon ang art ni Whilce, masyadong posey, at puro buka ang mga bibig ng mga characters niya. And anyway, nandidito ako sa New York.

Rapidograph is just a pen brand, for pen and ink drawiings. It used to be my drawing tool of choice, before watercolors, pastels, and finally, digital.

My drawing of ChildOfTheDarkholde's design. I loved that she had shoulder-length hair and the design was a perfect blend of her more famous costumes. I have a Kylie "Fever" poster right beside my computer desk, so when I was getting ready to draw it the poster was practically screaming out at me--so I had to totally riff off it with the pose and microphone, etc ;) Kylie for Dazz '07! I hope to tackle AnkaleRa's design too, it was another of my favorites.

Without color, I can stomach. And while I DESPISE the version, I love your art. If only you would draw "DAZZLER: THE CBR EDITION" with Disco!Fab Dazzler surrounded by her army of gay men, I'd be in Disco Heaven.

Well, if truth be told, I think the version isn't the greatest (and by that I mean not good), but there are elements of it I like. Like the top and jacket.

Yeah. The angles of the light and the circles are very reminiscent of some of the Sienkiewicz Dazzler work... especially the light blast off the necklace.

Oh, good! I've been looking at a lot of the Sienkiewicz stuff lately, because I love how he portrays light. I want to get in on some of that action. No matter what incarnation of Dazzler, I'll always prefer the circles of light to the computer generated stuff they've had her shooting lately. *oh the good ole days*
And the hair is so Dita Von Teese glam it hurts!

I guess I had a bad reaction to Dazzler's new costume reveal by Jim Mcann yesterday so I decided to have some fanboy therapy and see how I would re-design her costume today. I took in consideration that CBR fans all seem to prefer her long, blonde hair (even though my favorite is her short new-wave 'do from the 80's) so I decided to work with that style instead.
I have lots of problems with how comic book artists tend to over-complicate their costume designs, adding non-functional costume properties (shoulder pads and piping) and unflattering accents (ribbing and metallic layers). Or they just plain don't go with the character's persona. A little of the 'all of the above' is how I felt about Dazzler's new look in upcoming X-Men 500 and X-Men Skrulls. I just think the design is so boooring and generic looking. The Alison Blair of the 70's and 80's would never go for that. So once again, I thought I'd try my hand at it. Albeit, my design/coloring style is more animation-style inspired, I'm just a big fan of the whole "less is more" way of thinking.

Back then I went with a more Indie rock/pop look, rather than super hero. Using looks from musicians like Pink, Karen O and Gwen Stefani, I took a more "edgy" approach. Mainstream pop stars these days are going for the longer hair so I just decided to stick to more simplified and classic styles. Plus Novaya loves some Kylie...

These are fantastic!
Let's get real, decking her out in a boring steel grey jumpsuit isn't going to make her more appealing to the male demographic, and that is why I especially like the pink outfit that you designed... The deliciously girly nature of her character should be embraced!

Dude, wurd up! That's pretty much why I indulged myself in exploring that crazy color scheme. With a character like her why shy away from the girly? That's total strength. That pink's chosen for a reason. It's all about her gettin' it.

My take on her new costume. The only difference, it's sleeveless, and is a throwback to her disco costume, havind high-heels and opening up like it does. Her 4 point star is present in many places too. The main colour scheme would be silver and Navy blue, except the stars, those would be gold. It took me 10-15 minutes to do, and apparantly, I'm no good at drawing noses. Enjoy!:redface:

I miss Ultimate Dazz! I haven't been keeping up with the series as much lately, though. Nice job on the tatts!
As for NEX Dazz, although I'm convinced she was a Skrull, I appreciate the fact you gave her mid-drift to try and fem up that outfit of hers, hehe.

Loeb killed her off in the first issue of Ultimatum. She was my favorite... in fact they killed off all of my favorites but one. But I am use to it by now, my faves always end up dying.
