Hi guys, its been along time since I have been reading any manga.

I have now decided that my goal is to collect and review light-hearted/humorous/comedy/drama mangas as oppose to today's serious action oriented manga themesuch as:Death Note,FMA,Hellsing,Bleach,Naruto

I have recently read Sgt Frog vol 1(Keroro in Japan),and find the premise and character very interesting.
I realize that the comic didn't make me go "bwahahahahaha" but it did made me smile and smirking along the way.

So far,I haven't really studied/remembered any clever one-liner joke.(need to re-read),there must be some though.
Anyhow,I realize that the book strong point lies in its slapstick(sometimes dark humor) and the funny situation that the characters are in.

I am ordering Hitman Reborn sometime next week. But I thought about making a thread like this to collect opinions from manga enthusiasts.

Here goes:
Please state your opinion if you think that Sgt Frog(Keroro) are superior than Hitman Reborn/vice-versa.
Which manga deliver better slapstick/one-liner jokes?Which premise appeals to you more? Are the jokes kiddish/non-mature/mature/outdated/hilarious?Post your reviews.

However,if none of this mangas appeals to you, please state other manga that delivers better for you(and state your opinion).

Votes are optional but much appreciated.

TO those you why doesn't know any of the mangas I just stated.
Here are the pictures and the links.

The first part of Reborn is hilarious, probably one of the funnier manga that I have read, but once Mukuro shows up (the arc starts with students getting beaten up and having teeth removed equal to how strong they are), the humour takes a backseat to standard action. It's still a good series, but the fourth arc in (where the first arc is humour-based and the second arc is Mukuro) tends to turn people off of the series due to its length and near-incomprehensibility due to the sheer number of characters being introduced in rapid succession.

I haven't read Keroro Gunso, so I can't give an opinion on it, but Reborn is funny while it lasts (which is basically the first seven volumes).

Overall, my favourite humour manga would probably be Bobobo-bo Bo-bobo, but unfortunately, the scanlations are not really far into the series, and a lot of people don't get the humour due to most of the situations making literally no sense.

Oh,nice and great review.P/s:check out Keroro comics,I am enjoying it for the moment:biggrin: .

Just for some addition in future reviews by other posters. It would be great if you guys could include in your reviews content to answer questions like below:
Does the comic premise appealed you at first? Is it the slapstic/action jokes that you enjoy?Favorite one liner moment?

I hope other people could post anytime soon.

Guys, does anyone here ever read or heard of Crayon Shin-Chan?
I remember the tv series and it was absolutely funny(funnier tan Bart Simpson and Denice the Menace)

In terms of comparison to Keroro Gunso,Shin Chan wins hands down.
A funny 5 years old Japanese kids with funny quirks with his parents in their daily life.It also blend Japanese culture and sense of realism of how life is for Japanese kids back in the 70s-80s

It would be unfair for me to explain thoroughly as I myself haven't read the whole volume manga.
But I can tell you that it's a pure innocent comedy manga masterpiece that made me go "bwahahahaha".Sadly, its one of the most underrated anime/manga.
