For all those naysayers, does this newest cover change your mind about whether or not Tan is going to be a good fit with B&R? I think it's stunning and continues the dynamic atmosphere and kinetic energy established by Quitely.

Just give him a colorist that understands the Blade Runner (Neon Noir) aesthetic that Morrison's going for and it will be brilliant. Shit, give them Laura Martin from over at Marvel and it will be perfect.

I've never been a naysayer(not about this anyway), but I like it.

As much as I wished Frank Quitely could have done the entire run, I'm interested to see how Philip Tan works with the title. The cover is pretty awesome, but I want to see some interior artwork first.
I also hope he draws every page and doesn't have any fill-ins like with the Agent Orange arc.
Still, one of the best books on the stands. Hopefully Tan makes it even better.

Like his art. Maybe Tan's arc will be more action oriented

There was some complaints about Tan's work on Spawn being overtly detailed that it was hard to tell what was going on.
I guess I could see that, but I still loved it and am looking forward to his work on B&R.

THESE, however, have me sold . Love the shadows, i just hope this doesn't get to heavy and contrasty under the inkers pen

Agreed - no fill-ins. I'd like to see Tan's pencils hopefully delivered on time (thou I don't want him to rush), with one person on inks (looks like it'll be Glapion) , and one person on colors.

Grant is famous for writing for artists. He knows Tan is illustrating this. He'll play to his strengths. It's gonna be awesome.
Best current DC title. Hands down.

Both the covers and the images on that comic bloc forums looks great :)
Can't remember seeing any of Tan's work before, but then again, I haven't really been paying attention always on who's done what in the past.
Nice knowing that another good artist will be on the title after Quitely. One of my favourite titles.

So Quitely is gone for good then?
That is really dissapointing news. I'm sure this book will really drop off in sales then too.

I think he's coming back for the last arc of 3-4 issues or so.

Nah, he's coming back. B&R is sticking to this schedule:
Issues 1-3: Quitely
4-6: Tan
7-9: Frazier Irving
10-12: Quitely again
Oh, and after seeing the stuff over at ComicBloc, I'm a lot more excited about Tan's issues. Should fit the tone of the Red Hood story pretty well.

I'm far more excited for Frazier Irving. Not that there's anything wrong with Tan's art, but I don't think it's really anything special. They choose two very unique storytellers in Quitely and Irving. Tan just seems like an above average superhero artist to me.
I'll still read it, though.

Man, Tan's art was at it's best in Spawn: Godslayer. Wish the continued. :frown:
