What are your top 3 superhero movies? and I don't mean the ones you think should be amongst the best of all time, I mean the ones that you enjoyed the most regardless if they were big or even good. Also remember this is all opinion.
My choices (Because to be perfectly honest that was the main reason I started this thread  ) In no particular order (because I always end up changing positions).
Superman II Richard Donner's cut. My fav superhero movie used to be Superman I (Yes I even liked the spinning earth backwards thing) but I think that Superman II RDC has a great balance of action and emotion no other superhero movie has managed to achieve.
Iron Man. It's weird because I have never read an Iron Man or for that matter an Avengers comic book but I still enjoyed the hell out of this movie. Unlike other superheros, I didn't knew much of his origin so it was all a surprise you could say. IDK if RDJ Played a good Tony Stark (I assume he did) but that was one of the most badass movies I ever watched. Not Citizen Kane good, but Iron Man levels of Bad ass. Nuff said.
Now I must say that I'm torn between TDK and Batman89. But Heath Leadger!!!111!!1 you must be thinking, yeah his performance, The action and TDK's supporting cast is the reason why I'm torn between them. After the Hype wear off I started to see many flaws in TDK that made me like it just as much as Batman89 and while TDK has Leadger 89 has Keaton... KEATON dude! Oh which one should I pick... neither because the Best Batman film ever created was called BATMAN MASK OF THE PHANTASM, and both TDK and 89 are lightyears away of achieving this level of pure awesomeness!
A bonus place I give to The Wonder Woman DTV.

I'm counting Judge Dredd as a super hero film. I love 90's action films.
My other two would have to be The Hulk (Ed Norton version) which for some reason I just really liked a lot. And Batman Begins, I'm a big fan of the Bat and I thought the subject matter was handled well in that film.

Batman (1989) - Yeah, it's over the top. It's supposed to be. A hilarious film with Michael Keaton getting deeper into the character than any other actor.
Iron Man - I laugh when I watch it, so it gets picked. Extra credit for not having shitty effects and not laying the action too thick.
Darkman - Raimi's best film. Just an insane movie experience with a poignant turn from Liam Neeson.

2. X-Men 2-I love how Ian Mckellen plays Magneto in this film.
3. Batman 89- Just plain awesome.

Whats with all the Spider Man 2 love, it's the same movie as the first. Father figure to Peter gets caught in science experiment gone wrong, becomes villain and kidnaps Mary Jane, Peter saves her the end.
Doc Ock was absolutely perfect. Alfred Molina nailed his role and the fights between him and Spider-man were awesome and satisfying.
The movie showed the struggles of Peter Parker and Spider-man really well, both the consequences and positives of the two.
The talk between Uncle Ben and Pete was extremely tender, Peter and MJ's relationship went thru it's ups and owns but in the end, they both declare their love for each other, and Harry's descent to the dark side was great and understandable.
The movie was fantastic at balancing the humor, action, suspense, conflict and wonder that makes Spider-man amazing.

Well, I very much liked Ang Lee's Hulk story. The Special effects though look like they came out of a Playstation 1. And in a movie like that it's not only important but necessary to have good special effects.

Its my #4 movie right behind Dr Horrible and I answered Spider Man 2 as #1. While I don't know Libaax's logic for me its because it was truly the first superhero movie that did absolute justice to the character without being cheesy for the sake of being cheesy (Superman films which were good otherwise) and most importantly was about the man behind the costume. What makes these movies great is that they are about Peter Parker who happens to be Spiderman instead of the other way around. Other movies have tried this approach but they've been less successful and other movies have done virtually no character development about the man behind the mask.

[B]me its because it was truly the first superhero movie that did absolute justice to the character without being cheesy/B]
Bingo !
It was a movie that got its superhero perfect, it was a movie driven by Spidey, made for Spidey. That makes it the best superhero so far. Defoe as Goblin was good too. You got to see teenage spidey which makes him classic superhero.
Thats why i dont rate The Dark Knight,Batman Begins as good superhero movies, good movies sure. Quality actors. Great Joker. Batman was wasted though....Falcone,Ra's sucked.
Thats why i look more forward to Iron Man 2 than Batman 3. There is no Two-Face/Eckhart,Heath/Joker this time.
Batman is my favourite superhero but the Armour dude in the films isnt the great superhero that you read in the comics.
Im a superhero fan i have no interest in good movies that are superhero i want good superhero movies that comes at least close to their comics. Thats why i have seen The Dark Knight once and Iron Man 3 times.

Batman (1989) - It's not high art.... but it's fun, I consider it to be my favorite Tim Burton film of all time. I was listening to NPR when they were reviewing the Dark Knight and the reviewer claimed that Batman wasn't a good film or one of the top five super heroe films of all time. Well right after he finished that sentence quite a few people from NPR STORMED on the air, to argue with the guy!
I love the way Batman was shot, I loved the use of far away angles and how Batman would just up the back ground. I loved the look and feel of Gotham City it felt like an other world but also felt like new york city. The film also had some great supporting touches, from Prince's music which STILL doesn't feel dated, to Robert Wuhl's comic relief, to the awesome Billy Dee Williams(who should have been Two-face damn it).
Finally Nicholson and Keaton both got into the characters of Batman and the Joker. Ledger's performance is technical brilliance but Nicholson goes right to the top without going over, every time you watch it you find a new little joke or insight from the character.
The Crow - A gothic fairy tale that feels more like Blade Runner or High Noon than Batman. Visually the film feels like something else, it encapsulates this weird future/past/present type tone, that the film could have taken place in the mid 80's or 100 years later. It also some kick ass enjoyable villians including the vastly under-rated Bai Ling.
The Incredible Hulk - I liked it more than Iron Man, I feel like this was a true comic book film, like this could have been a shot for shot reuse of a comic book. I loved all of the action sequences in the film which is a rare thing, I also loved Tim Roth as a big bad whose not really that big or that bad.

I agree about Hulk i was really surprised by how like the comic it was. I saw it on cable recently. If i knew earlier Roth was in it i would have seen it last summer.
Great actors like Tim Roth,Norton helped make it better.
Plus the Hulk looked better and he had a villian, awesome action scenes.

Superman II
-In my opinion at least this, whether you are talking the Richard Donner cut or the original version, is the best Superhero movie ever. And cool as Ledger was in Batman Returns, the coolest villain portrayal ever was Terrence Stamp as Zod("KNEEL before Zod, ZOD!!!)
As to the number 2 spot there are a couple that are competing for it to me, including Batman Begins, The Dark Knight, Iron Man, the first Superman movie, Robocop 2(if it counts), and Flash Gordon(if it counts).
Ultimately, I'll probably give the number 2 spot to The Dark Knight.
And I'll probably give number 3 to Iron Man, though Superman the movie and Batman Begins are so close that either of them could temporarily take this spot from time to time.

Your joking right? TDK was a Batman movie when he went to Hong Kong. So, for that 10-15 minutes...yeah, it was a Batman movie. The rest of the time, it was a Joker movie for an 1.5 hours, then a Harvey Dent movie, then a Two-Face vs. Gordon movie the rest of the time. One of the better movies of the last couple of years for enjoyability....but to say it is a Batman movie is just wrong.
Anyway my top 3.
1. Superman: The Movie
2. X2: X-Men United
3. Batman Begins

He saying how TDK is more of a joker movie and how Batman89 was all about Batman and that is why batman 89 is better. Both films main focus is the villains .
I do love both flims but Batman 89 had flaws one being the joker killing Batmans parents . He also thought Nicholson joker was better then ledger.

I think it he meant that if the performance is good, you wont realize its the actor. He's right.
But with Jack Nicholson, its different. He played his role as the Joker amazingly. While I did notice it was him sometimes, it was mainly due to his talking patterns and how much I've got to know the dude from his movies. It doesn't change the fact that he was a great Joker.

No, he's not. In some cases, it's difficult to recognize the actor, but that has nothing to do with whether the performance is convincing or moving.
Moreover, some actors are bound to certain performances. Whereas I'm fully aware that Finch is played by Gregory Peck throughout To Kill A Mockingbird. But the performance is amazing.

Fan boy talk alert because he is not like he is in the comics ,it must not be a good superhero flim.
What i meant was that if you dont make the superhero the movie is about good enough then the movie is ruined. I will remember the dark knight for good Joker,Two-Face/ Dent but never for Batman. Also it was a very lame ending, a bit too long.
Thats why i rate Batman(89) higher. Lame Joker but quality Batman,Batman story.
For example im not a fan of Iron Man but they made Stark and his type of hero he is come alive to screen so well. I enjoyed alot cause of that despite i can barely stand the guy in comics.
Thats how i judge superhero movies. If its good superhero wise. Not because i have read the comics or because i am a fan.
