My step-daughter got me to watch that movie for the first time with her awhile back and since then we must have watched it five more times; great movie.

Heh I never really got into the incredibles I thought a lot of its superheroes joke were oblivious (though its understandable) and well I don't like the vilains and his plot
the guy is basicly a mass murder
Why did he need to destroy the city to show up his tech couldn't he release that technology on its own
If he didn't kill all thoses heroes and destroy that city he still could have done his plot and there wouldn't have been anything evil about it,what's evil about introducing technology that make people do extraordinary thing? Its like complaining a forklift take work from strong people

I think the fact that he was a Sociopath may have clouded his judgement... J/K

I was sad they killed so many supers, but that's what villains, and especially crazy fans that grow up to be villains do, and I love that shift in tone, sure this is fun but they will kill you.

When Mr. Incredible sees how many of his friends are dead.... well, that was poignant, IMO.

I guess but the thing is, he killed loads of super being easily and he doesn't seem to give much of thought, but to somehow make them obsolete is a grandier more evil plot than that
feel more to me like weak storytelling

I see your point that would have a made a better story.

That was the eventual plan. Make Super's obsolete by making everyone super. But first he had to build a menace so horrible that no Super could stop it, so that he could charge in and save the day with his technology. Then after proving that he was better than all the other Supers, even without "real" powers, he would then sell his technology to everyone, making super's obsolete.
Unfortunately he blew the implementation of the plan. Just like every other villain before him.

A good movie, but I'm afraid it takes too goddamn long to get started. The first 45 minutes should have been 15 minutes.
But after that point, it's fun.

I liked it because I feel trapped in my job. I guess it's not really a kids movie, being about midlife crisis and all.
good little movie, glad you saw this, but WOW, you're late!
and though it was okay, I would've thought it would've been cooler with a lot more action or something.

I'm still waiting for the sequel.
Given the critical and commercial success of the first one, I've long wondered why they haven't come out with a second one. (How many Shrek's have there been since the Incredibles was first released?) On the other hand, I kind of admire the fact that they didn't immediately rush back to the well for a money grab. It's not like they have to hurry because they're worried about the actors getting too old.

Actually, that's pretty much it. His plan was completely bonkers. But so was he, so he didn't notice.

I have not, I will have to check that out. I did hear the video game was kind of a sequel, but never played it.

Yeah, Pixar really only does 1 movie a year because the animation takes so long. And I absolutely love almost every Pixar movie, but I really would like to see a sequel to The Incredibles one of these days.

If I would have had a vote, it would have been for Incredibles 2 over Toy Story 3, but that's just me.

Oh it's definitely not just you. A sequel to The Incredibles would be fun and, yeah, I suspect I'm also not the only one who wants more Frozone in the sequel. I know a fellow who wants Brad Bird to make an Iron Giant Sequel but ... I REALLY don't see how that could be rationalized given the whole death subtext in the first film. Still, if Bird actually did an Iron Giant sequel I admit I'd see it. He could make a film about two geezers playing Yahtzee and I'd see it but I'm sure he won't touch that now that Up has been released.

Oh no, I saw this movie in the theatres on opening day. It's just my son didn't get into it the first couple of times I tried it with him, but he loved it this past weekend.

My vote is no more sequels for any Pixar movie.
Ziggy Stardust

I'd agree with that.
While the idea of an Incredibles movie sounds cool, I like the fact that it was left wide open.
And Cars 2 just does not get my heart to racing. Sure, I thoroughly enjoyed Cars, but.... Well, Mater in Europe can only be funny for so long.
And Toy Story 3? why?

And Toy Story 3? why?
IIRC, Pixar didn't want to make a third Toy Story but Disney did. Pixar at first refused so Disney was going to to do it themselves but when Disney bought Pixar, it was agree that Pixar would make the movie but they could take their time doing it.
The Incredibles is one of two of Pixar's movies that I really like(the other being Monster's Inc) and will love to see what they do for the sequel.

See, I worry about an INcredibles sequel.
What made the story work, IMO was the build-up of Bob going from a solo hero to a retired hero who was now a family man and expected to fit in with "normal" people.
The mid-life crisis aspect was what really sealed it, for me anyway.
If they do a sequel, my guess/worry is that it'll all be about the KIDS and their "growing pains" and the angst that goes with it.

That's the current trend in superheroes right now.

My kids and I must have laughed for a half hour freeze framing the scene where Dash shoots his Dad a huge grin at the dinner table after he " must have been bookin'" to not get caught on tape. Love the whole movie, for that matter. I'd watch a sequel even if it was only half as good as the original. That's still pretty good.

I chuckle at Dash's giggle when he realizes he can run on water.
