Casting The DCU in Hollywood's Golden Age

Though I'm not a Hal Jordan fan I do agree that Nathan Fillion would have been one of the most perfect bits of casting in recent memory. Sadly he's about ten years too old for the role, but if we could pluck people from time, he would have been perfect, maybe even moreso than Hal's original model: Paul Newman. With that in mind, what if we could mine Hollywood's Golden Age for the DCU. This easy, because it seems that Alex Ross has already been doing it for his illustrations.
