I can't believe what we've achieved and we're not even done!

Yeah, wow, we're going to do a full list to thank everyone, but it's just insane. People who donated art or money include, David Mack, Sergio Aragones, Brian Bendis, Stan Sakai, Neil Gaiman, Geoff Johns, Bob Wayne, David Lloyd, Joe Quesada, Eric Jones, Jim Lee, J. Scott Campbell, Art Adams, Dan Jurgens, Mark Wheatley, Jeff Smith, Terry Moore, Stephane Roux, Chris Batista, Eric Canete, Colleen Coover, Terry Dodson, Aaron Lopresti, Alvin Lee, UDON Studios, David Hahn, Steve Lieber, Phil Hester, Billy Tucci, Roger Langridge, Rob Liefeld, Rags Morales, Matt Wagner, Talent Caldwell, Paul Chadwick, Ron Randall, Scott Shaw, Neal Adams, Joe Prado, Tim Truman, John Layman and Rob Guillory, Phillip Tan, Bernard Chang, Val Semeiks, Kevin Smith, Francis Manapul, Bill Morrison, Dustin Weaver, Matt Groening, Batton Lash, Tone Rodriguez, Agnes Garbowska, Chris Schweizer, Thom Zhaler, Laurie B., Nicola Scott, Jamal Igle, Chris Burnham, Phil Noto, Josh Adams, the Kubert family, Marc Hempel, Boom Studios, Mark Waid, Bo Hampton, Norm Breyfogle, Mike Vosburg, Scott Morse, James Owen (who has, in his ENTIRE CAREER had less than two dozen pieces of his original art put up for sale or donation, making this CRAZY rare), Marv Wolfman, Christos Gage, Lin Workman, and more. There are a few pieces that came in through the mail that are up on the website that have not yet been listed, by some wonderful artists. We'll thank them all properly soon!

With pieces donated by collectors featuring Dan DeCarlo, Bruce Timm, George Perez, Alex Nino, Howard Chaykin, Joe Staton, Dave McKean, Dave Sim and many others, also, one-of-a-kind collectibles!

And if you can believe it, there's still more coming!

We're not going to be able to auction all of this wonderful wonderful stuff at one event, so there's going to be an online auction and a lot of people are going to get a chance at some of this once-in-a-lifetime stuff. I'm pretty excited!

Not to mention that cash donations have already topped 14k!

Holy crap, I love this industry!

Dude, I KNOW.

My stepfather, a great man who fought honorably for our country, is going through hell right now dealing with trying to get decent care from the VA.

It's bad.

Gail, when the auction is up and open, let us know. I'd love to put up an article at Wired about it, see if I can get more traffic to it.

WOW
That's monkey-spanking good!

(Um, that sounded better in my head)

Hopefully it'll go online so we can all get a shot at donating and buying the good stuff.

GO CHICAGO CON!

(And PLEASE United States Gov pass a fricking comprehensive health care bill already!)

LOL... I sound like such a recluse. But seriously, I know pieces by guys like Jeff Smith are rare as well, just because he doesn't sell originals from his main work (BONE). Those are the kinds of things to go for, just for the rarity.

Mine going online (instead of at Comicon) will be good because my fanbase is less comics-oriented these days - but we'll get a better price for it.

You've done amazing things here, Gail.

*beams* Good luck with the auctions. It's a shame that healthcare is such a mess in this country, but it's also heartening to see all that help pouring in.

You're a really kind person; don't let any of the assholes ever make you question that.

James, I know they already had someone requesting to buy your piece online before the auction even started. They have made special arrangements for her to be able to bid by phone!

It's amazing and fantastic that so many within the comic industry have Mr. Ostrander's back. I don't think you can say that about every industry out there. I mean there is a sense of community.

I like Ostrander. I hope this works.

Wish there were some items online. That may even get more cash.

Didn't there used to be an artist's group who provided healthcare the way that SAG/AFTRA does for actors so well?

It's cool to see so many people come together like that.
