Son of a baptist minister Stan Freberg staked himself as a great comedic icon years ago. You may know him from his various voice actor perfromances (thats were I first heard of him) from warner brothers to the various works of bob clampet. He was baby bear in the various Warners cartoons. He replaced Kent Rogers as Beaky Buzzard. Freberg's first credit was in the jazz style cartoon Three Little Bops. He even was in the comedy classic It's a Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad World. Happy birthday Stan!

Forgot he was also the original Cecil on Time for Beany! My mom would hate me for not mentioning that (she is a big Beany and Cecil fan and so was the lat great Albert Einstein!).

My parents used to have a couple of his comedy albums when I was a kid, and I listened to them all the time. Daws Butler and June Foray were part of his group.
I particularly remember the "Elderly Man River" bit... Freberg plays a singer trying to sing "Ol' Man River" but a network censor (Butler) keeps interrupting and forcing him to make the lyrics politically correct and use proper grammar.

His autobiography is quite good. Freberg was also a pioneer in the world of advertising, one of the first people to really use humor in TV/Radio ads (as opposed to hard-sell, shouting-at-people ads, which were the norm at the time.)

Wait, so did Freberg go back in time after being born "today" (yesterday, now) and live a full life in entertainment?
I'm even more impressed by the man, who can now add "time travelling baby" to his resume.

I probably should have phrased the thread title differently.

Doesn't matter. Somebody will always find a way to poke fun at stuff. It's The American Way.
