Where do I start with the DCU?

I want to start reading the DCU but want to start as far back as possible. I've heard that the DCU gets 'revamped' every few years. When was the last time the DCU was revamped?

Technically, Infinite Crisis in 2005 was the last revamp, but Crisis on Infinite Earths (1985) was a much larger reboot and still has a lot of influence in modern continuity.

Infinite Crisis didn''t really make that many changes. The only major changes I can think of is Joe Chill being caught and Superman having never killed the Phantom Zone criminals.

So really just start from anything post COIE if you want to get to know the modern DCU from the ground up.

Also Clark being Superboy, meeting the Legion and retconning out most of the childhood established post-crisis.

For Batman, all the stories from the inception of the character to the present became canon.
