Sodam Yat is gonna kick his dad's ass so goddamn bad.

His mother never did arrive on Oa, did she? Maybe he just sent her in a bubble towards Oa and since his "sacrifice", she's now dead from space decompression.

That's the last two.

I think the next page must surely be either the other Daxamites rebelling and standing beside Arisia or Sodam Yat flying out of the sky and kicking his dad's monkey ass all over the planet.

I did not see that twist in the opening scene coming.

It adds a new dimension to the Kyle/Soranik relationship. I like that. Kyle cares about Soranik, and she's already helped him deal with his grief a lot, but he still hasn't let go of Jade. The sparks are sure gonna fly.

wasn't spectacular if you read it after BN 1.

and why is Jade buried on Oa?

Yeah, the issue overall didn't advance the story much, but add new layers to already existing plot points.

The Kyle/Soranik relationship. Kyle and Guy attending Tribute Day. The assault on the Lantern Crypt. Mongul and the Mongul Corps on Korugar. The return of Kryb.

I'm kind of afraid of Daxam at the moment. They're xenophobes with the powers of Superman. Their planet was just assaulted by alien invaders, which only fuels their hate machine. I'm curious if this might develop into Daxam traveling to other worlds and assaulting other sentinent life.

I also think Sodam's father has a mad-on for Arisia. I don't think we've seen the last of him.

Wasn't as good as Green Lantern #44 but it was still pretty good.

Well, Sinestro's rumored to be maybe siding with Hal somehow in this whole Blackest Night thing, so leadership of the Yellow Lanterns may very well have passed on to Mongul.

By god I'll hit you with my ring hand!

GLC was pretty good this issue, I'm loving Gardner each time I see him. Cant wait for the next issue.

I have no idea where Jade's body came from.

I have no idea where Jade's body came from.

Johns has said "they don't need to have a body in order to be a BL." Which tells me there's something more to all this than just "ring lands on dead person's hand, body reawakens, thirsts for pullin' out peoples' hearts."

What boggled me was that her grave (torn open, IIRC, as I think they showed Blue Devil and Co. at her site specifically) was still on Earth, yet she showed up all the way over on Oa.

But if they don't need a body, where are the bodies coming from?

Someone who can manipulate the very nature of the universe (in just enough of a way to bring back the dead)?

I'm honestly not gonna give it much more thought - it's weird and, to be honest, I want them to just surprise the crap outta me.

Well the Black Lanterns seem to be targeting people who will have an emotional reaction to them in order to harvest their hearts. Jades choices were Alan Scott, Obsidian and Kyle. She obviously picked Kyle (at least to kick things off). Is it really such a stretch that the Black Power rings can let the Black Lanterns fly as fast as the GLs? Considering Kyle and Guy didn't head to Oa at top speed it is perfectly feasible that Black Lantern Jade could get to Oa in the time frame that she did.

I really enjoyed this issue. Love Gleason's art, Tomasi's writing and Guy Gardener. Was an interesting revelation about who Kyle saw in the Star Sapphire as well. Can't wait for the coming Mongul Vs Sinestro broohaha either

Man, Senator D-bag needs to get his ass whooped, stat! Maybe Sodam Yat's still alive and gets out of the sun and it turns back to red, while Diro is flying around.

Or some BL can put the smack on Diro, like how Arisia smashed him with a right cross.

Mongul marching down the streets of Korugar was my favourite moment in the issue. The art was perfect.

Maybe the Daxamites he convinced to leap to their deaths rather than be enslaved by Mongul will get black rings and then return the favour.

When did Mongul take over Korugar? I feel like I am missing something here.
