Cable's going to show up and be all, "What are your intentions with my daughter, Emil?"
Deadpool as a pirate? Hopefully he'll get to rough up Orlando Bloom.
X-Men First Class- Jeff Parker delivers- again. The great unsung hero among X-writers.
X-Men Forever- Is it just me, or does that uber-big font coming out of Storm make you think she's planning a meet-up at the monorail?

In the 60's, 70's, and 80's, 12 year old's was Marvel's target market.
What does this say bout us?:frown:

She was, but I thought she had gotten her memory mostly back before getting captured by the Genoshans?

Cable's the sleeper hit of the X-men for me. Duane's doing great stuff with it. He's doing a great job of stripping away all the crap that has grown up around Cable over the years and showing the man beneath.

It looks a little better than when the series started and I like the art a little better. Still can't get over Hope, loathe the little redhead.

The First Class books are all (retrofit) canon actually. Like Hidden Years was, or the Classic Vignettes.

I'd really rather treat them like they weren't canon, but charming, inconsequential "what-ifs". I think continuity is complicated enough already.

Agreed. I think there's some fear about making them non-canon though, even though that's what XMFC was originally conceived as.

No she wasn't. She did not go through the Siege Perilous, she was "killed" by Havoc when he was trying to stop Nanny and Orphan Maker... he blasted the ship the "false" Storm was in...

It's right there in the comics. She went thru the Siege apparently and regained the childhood she never really had.

I'm agreeing with you. When I said no, I meant she didn't lose her memory. I always thought that Nanny and Orphan Maker had deaged her and not the Siege Perilous. I could be wrong though.

She didn't go through the Seige though, Nanny deaged her. And she did have memory loss when she escaped and Gambit found her.
I wonder if Nanny's working with THE CONSORTIUM?

Shoot, I'm sorry then. It's the heat, melts mah brain.
Maybe that's why Claremont's been so inconsistent with his characterization.
And Stephane, can you pass along to Claremont that kids nowadays say, That's bitchin'! And when they really don't like something or it's too effeminate, they also say, "That's camp as tits, man."

I didn't read it, but somewhat messily I heard.
I also remember reading before it "went canon", Parker planned on making Angel a girl. Now if this Angel had been in it, I'd have been there day one.

Except when it's used wrong and read as awkward.
Stephen, can you also tell Claremont over at Comixfan that if you write a script, read it out loud after you finished a scene and see if it's clicking in right. If you're still not sure, ask another person and they'll tell you if it's working or not. Bendis does this all the time and look where it's gotten him.

"This is so cool!" is not at all awkward. Or "used wrong." You're reaching.
And Bendis writes naturalistic dialog in his comics, Claremont doesn't. If you require naturalistic dialog out of your superhero comics, that's fine. A lot of us don't. I like the contrast of having Spidey and Luke Cage quip like Larry David as they save the world, but I don't need that or miss that in X-Men forever.
