In an attempt to keep drawing each day and to get back into practice, I've decided to start posting my artwork in a thread for you to view, evaluate and (mostly) enjoy! Feel free to name requests and I'll do what I can!

Here is a page of sequential art I worked on for a Wolverine project called "Versus". It's mainly so you can see the progress from rough sketch to finished pencils. Enjoy!

Here is the initial sketch:

Then, I begin to flesh out the figures:

More development (adding other foes like Cyber):

http://i939.photobucket.com/albums/ad235/Eric-Henson/LoganvsVictor-3.jpg

I started covering more negative space and tossed in Deadpool:

And it goes on...

More details & a backround:

Semi-final Pencils (swapped out Deadpool for DeathStrike, completed the panels and cleaned it up a bit). Almost finished!:

Very nice. Tight lines, good use of negative space. My only small critique would be the claw you directed differently in the final pict. Other than that great job.

Always great to see how someone works, the decision process and the evolution from start to finish.

Thanks! I went back and forth with that claw. Actually, I had someone hold a set of blades and it appeared to curve outward, but now that you pointed it out...I went back and fixed it (see below). Thanks for reminding me!

Thought I'd include some portrait work here...

This one was more for fun. Way less detailed--a study for a later portrait...

Very nice work Eric. Your pencils are tight as heck. My only comment, and it's minor is that Wolverine's pose looks kind of stiff to me, but that may be just me.

I've been tying to do a sketch a day in order to get back in shape as well - stay committed!!

Thanks! And yes, his pose is stiff. I have to get out of that habit and loosen up.

And portrait I drew of my friend's daughter--it was taken with a bad digital camera (didn't scan it) so I apologize for the poor quality...

Here is a comedic characture I did for a Pastor who is known by his congregation as a local "Superman". The pose was based on a Superman wallpaper design (no idea who the artist was that made the wallpaper) I found online. Just for fun--here is : Super-Bob!

A Storm sketch I did back when I was deployed to the Middle East. It has lots of errors on it but it was fun.

Nothing too new to add right now (in the realm of comics). I'm waiting on a few digital coloring jobs to close out and I'm working on a DC splash page at the moment. When its done I'll post. After that I have a Marvel compositon/comission cover coming up so that will be HUGE.

I'll keep you posted. For now...another portrait. The little boy in this sketch recently passed away. I sketched a quick family portrait per request as a memorial:

Looking great as usual. Small critique on the tangent created by placing Wonderwoman leg behind Flash' arm. You're an excellent artist so it's not really bothersome like it would be if your lines were less clear but it tends to blend the two together in places at first glance.
Otherwise than that great pict, very dynamic.
Also like the family pict, well done!

Wow! I actually didin't notice that at all. Now that you mention it, I do see how that blends. The issue will resolve itself once the colors are applied though (due to the contrast), but you are correct, sir! Good call.

Also, thank you for the compliments on the artwork. It does good to get confirmation from a great artist like yourself. Continue to enjoy! More to come!
