I recently have read Riki-Oh chapters 1 - 75, Ikki Tousen chapters 1 - 108, Vagabond 1 - 145, Deathnote 0 & 1, and Fist of the North Star chapters 1 - 41. Just to give you a general idea of the kind of manga I like to read. Can you guys please recommend a manga for me to read next?

Kongou Banchou = I have no idea what it's about, except that one character apparently uses a car as a weapon at one point, and that it causes a lot of screaming in general on the Lounge thread.

History's Strongest Disciple Kenichi = Looser guy meets cute martial arts girl and starts training in a dojo run by six insanely strong (and possibly insane) masters. Along the way he gets into a ton of fights against various odd people.

Me, I'd recommend Change 123. It's about a nerdy guy who meets a girl with a peculiar form of split personality, in that her three extra personalities are all martial arts masters. He decides to help her and along the way they get into a ton of fights against various odd people.

It's kinda like HSDK except better. And it has one of the most interesting takes on multiple personalities I've seen. (Plus, there's nudity!)

i'd recommend sket dance. (again).

its a about school club made of three people called the sket dan. they take on jobs and tasks that no one can or will do. the members.

bossun: the leader. seem silly but rather smart. likes to break the 4th wall a lot or referance other anime and manga. once he puts on his goggles, he gains super consintration powers.

hime, the muscle: a former yankee girl, she likes to suck strange flavor suckers, which looks like she's smoking. uses a field hockey stick as a weapon. often does a lot of things with bossun as she is the only one who understands his humor. typical tsunadre to bossun but can be very tender and caring to him.

switch, the brains: classic nerd who doesnt speak at all. he only communicates thru a voice speech program that says aloud what he types. skilled inventor and talented hacker who can seem to get info on anyone. spends his time flaming forums.

Ghost, Change123 is awesome! But not quite at HDK's level just yet. It'll probably get there the more I read.

The rest of Hokuto no Ken (Fist Of the North Star). There's like... around 300 chapters or so overall, get reading.

Also seconding Change 123 and Kongou Banchou. The former because it is easily one of the better martial arts series around and the latter because it is the manliest series ever!

Just finished reading Ikki Tousen Vol. 4 & 5.

I have a question about Fist of North Star. The answer to this may be because I'm reading it online. So I get to the chapter where Kenshiro is about to confront Jagi. After the chapter "The Law of Hokuto" when Ken and Jagi are about to fight it immediately jumps to "Warning of Death" where Ken is confronting his other brother on horseback Raoh. WTF just happened  I even read past that up into parts of "The Harbrginer of Death over Mamiya" but still it seems there is a gap of info I am missing. Help anyone?

There's been more scanlations since so this isn't totally accurate anymore but for some reason when Heart Of Madness first scanlated Hokuto no Ken they jumped from halfway through volume 2 to the ending of volume 8 and never went back until recently.

Hence there's a lot of missing story in terms of manga online.

Thanks everyone. I'm actually enjoying Change 123 more than Ikki Tousen, and I stopped reading Fist of the North Star until I can find the conclusion of the Jagi fight I am missing.

Doesn't sound like something I'd be interested in wolvie, but still thanks everyone for all the feedback thus far. Someone highly recommended Vagabond to me so I might have to check it out next. (Until I find chapter 42 of Fist of North Star or the next volume of Change 123 comes out) Anyone know if Vagabond is worth checking out?

Change 123 has had no action for a long time sadly.

We've heard nothing to my knowledge. It's probably an official hiatus.

As to other things to read... if enjoyed Ikki Tousen, you could give Tenjou Tenge a shot. Similar martial arts centric storyline set primarily in a high school and it's art by Oh!Great so it's gorgeous in the later chapters.

Also Kongou Banchou because it is madly awesome and the main character, one Akira Kongou is possibly one of the manliest characters... ever. Similarly high school centric but incredibly awesome combat, varied characters and combat styles and all around awesome.

Thx 4 the feedback. I try to stay away from the "School Life" genre but still appreciate any and all replies I get. I am currently reading Vagabond on & off, but I like to take breaks from it every now & then.

Does anyone know if Basilisk, Full Metal Panic! & Rurouni Kenshin are worth reading? All 3 manga have been recommended to me and I've seen a little bit of each anime.

bigbluntz, yes Kenshin is worth reading. It has great fights, art, and informs you about Japanese history.

Let's, first off to your question...
Basilisk: If you enjoyed Ninja Scroll, then you'll enjoy this, considering they were based off the same novel(s.) While it can be perceived as another Romeo and Juliet tale, the ninja on ninja action should be enough of a distraction.
Rurouni Kenshin: Read it...there's not much left to say after that.
Full Metal Panic!: This series is a bit schizo in its genre, which makes it a bit hard to determine if another person will like it. The comedy alone makes it good in my books.

For my recommendation
Jojo's Bizarre Adventures: This series practically has everything; vampires, mystical martial arts, robot nazis, and WRYYYYYYYYYY!!! Also, it's around 500 chapters, so you won't run out anytime soon.
Berserk: You've probably heard this one quite a bit, but it's a series that bears to be recommended each and every time. The only downside to this series is that each new chapter takes a small eternity to come out.
Blade of the Immortal: While I haven't gotten too far into this series myself, so far, its a good samurai hack and slash fest.
Soul Eater: One of my current favorites, the art style is what I imagine a manga/anime drawn by Tim Burton would look like.

Come on, I can't belive Berserk was suggested just one time. One of the best Manga ever. No explanation needed - just get and start reading!

Seconded, especially series 2 and series 5.

Berserk: You've probably heard this one quite a bit, but it's a series that bears to be recommended each and every time. The only downside to this series is that each new chapter takes a small eternity to come out.

I honestly thought that went without saying. Seconded so hard.

Sword of the Immortal: While I haven't gotten too far into this series myself, so far, its a good samurai hack and slash fest.

If you mean Blade Of The Immortal then seconded so hard. It's one of the few series I like to actually pay money for. The art is gorgeous as well.

Soul Eater: One of my current favorites, the art style is what I imagine a manga/anime drawn by Tim Burton would look like.

Tentatively seconded, it's good but a bit love/hate for some people. Worth a try certainly. It took me a while to get into it though.

Yeah, the school life bits are purely incidental. You'd be a fool to miss out on either of these series, especially Kongou Banchou.

If you've enjoyed Ikki Tousen and Fist of the North Star, then I recommend a manga named "Shi ga Futari wo Wakatsu Made". The english translation of the title is "Until Death Do Us Part" It's genre is swords x guns action and cloak-and-dagger suspense/mystery.

The summary:

The future is a great unknown. Throughout history, those who have been graced with the power to read it have been sought by many. In this day and age, the term "prophet" is outdated. "Precog," as in precognition, is the modern term.

Yet when the powers of precognition is graced upon a young 12-year old girl named Tohyama Haruka, she is sought after by a powerful organization. Utilizing her powers, Haruka makes contact with Hijikata Mamoru, a blind swordsman. When cornered by her captors, Haruka proposes an outrageous condition to Mamoru. Haruka wants Mamoru to protect her until death do them part.

http://www.mangaupdates.com/series.html?id=4111

I have learned in one of the early chapters that the 12-year old precog girl believes that the blind swordsman dozen years her senior will not only be her savior but also her future husband

ditto. its a very good series. if you can get past at how much of a married couple haruka and mamoru act now.
