I want to know what Marvel fans think of original graphic novels. Why doesn't Marvel publish them anymore?
Maybe it's just me, as I love being able to lead a large comic story in one sitting, but I'd love to see Marvel bring back it's OGN line, especially since DC is doing the same right now.
There is currently a DC writer named Marc Andreyko who currently does a noir tinged superhero backup series called Manhunter. He said that he plans to bring an end to the series in an OGN because in terms of content, you're allowed to push it up several notches in regards to the language and such.
I really want Marvel to do something like this with a book like X-Factor. The book has all the makings for a dark neo-noir MAX series, but for some reason, (possibly due to it being a spinoff of the X-Men), Marvel doesn't want to do that. I think an OGN would be a great place for Peter David to let loose.
So, what do you guys think?
