In our latest chapter of EVOLUTION REVOLUTION, "Utopia" writer Matt Fraction joins us for a page-by-page look at the struggles and strife in "Dark Avengers" #7, the third chapter of the crossover between "Dark Avengers" and "Uncanny X-Men."

Hang on because here we go! Trask goes mission critical. Surprises and twists happen as Cyclops is put to the test. There are three or four very important characters in the issue—they’re the last three people you would ever think of. Here’s a hint. They’re all girls.

I am hoping for the Cipher, Nekra and Bling! show.

So the Cuckoos are getting involved next issue.

Also it seems that Fraction's writing Scott as a man with a plan, but he does have some big shoes to fill as do Osborn.

So it's all a question as to whom will break down first and are both men ready for what seems to be another chaotic superhuman war ? :frown:

I believe that CDBMOOL has probably called it with the girls being the Cuckoos. They'll be the ones to deal with Sentry.

I'm confused about this human sentinel and nanite thing. It almost looks like Trask has his own agenda, but isn't he just one of Bastion's pawns?

I know it shouldn't, but the, "Emma was never a villain! Even in the Hellfire Club she was doing good!" retcon really drives me insane. I stopped reading the interview once I saw it.

that irks me too. she took pleasure in making others suffer and indulging in the use of her powers to control minds. saying she never was a villain takes away from the growth and development she's undergone. it's one of the reasons i'm not a fan of Fraction's Saint Emma.

Emma was manipulative and pretty relentless as a NM villan, especially, but she was never as batshit evil as Selene or as purely self-centered as Shaw. It's been established for a while that as much as she saw Mutant kids as a means to empower the Hellfire Club, she really did care about them.

She was also doing alot of prescription pills, right? :redface: (one of Grant Morrisson's most logical retcons, IMO) So give the girl (and Fraction!) a break!

I really like the line she's riding now, of playing along with the villans and trying to keep them in line while still standing up for things any good X-Man should be fighting for.

Any more calls for a Bling/Karma teamup??

This sort of street level angry mutant fiasco makes me miss Callisto. Can't she get her powers back, please? Whatever side she's on, the threat level just goes way high. She'd show Erg a thing of two about how to start a mutant sub-society.

Bastion resurrected Bolivar Trask, not Simon. As far as I know, Simon Trask has only been seen in the pages of Uncanny.

I think someone, somewhere confirmed it to be Dani Moonstar. But Outlaw would be a cool choice too... unless it really is Outlaw, and someone said it was Dani to hide the fact that it really was Outlaw.

Even when she was in the Hellfire Club and hanging out with bad people her goal was always the education and protection of mutants.

Well, I really really really hope it's outlaw. Fraction has made a reputation of pulling random characters that everyone forgot about outta freaking nowhere. (Adam X wtf?) So there is the possibility of it being her. I wouldn't mind it being Dani though. Does Dani regularly wear Cowboy hats?

Come now - can't you see how Butter Rum's death saved the mutant race?

You know the sad part about "Saint Emma" is just how much more boring and annoying this perspective makes the character.
