I'm of course refering to the X-Force/X-Static member. I briefly read her bio but after a paragraph I found way to damn depressing to continue. However the artwork that accompanied certain parts of the article made me think, oh what hell? I don't know if I should be aroused or horrified. (good artwork should not do that to you.) http://media.comicvine.com/uploads/0/77/224335-12838-venus-dee-milo_medium.jpg http://media.comicvine.com/uploads/0/9490/224122-65729-venus-dee-milo_medium.jpg

Well of course the original one gives me nightmares, the second one is just sexy enough while still managing to make me want avert my eyes as to anything above her waist line. It's like they wanted to add everything that is generally associated with black women to her, (volumpuous backside, modest to small breast, short chemically processed hair, but then went the extra length of making her red with particle arms.)

What I want to know is what is her personality like, how was she protrayed scene was in the books. Was she a likable character, did she get along well with the other characters, who was her first love interest? was the feel mutual? was she strong willed/did she apply herself while on the team or was she just a wall fixture? Tell me everything you can about the character.

Sorry about the typo in the title. it should be Explain.

The second picture you've provided is a piece of fan art, by CBR's very own The Mirrorball Man. You can see more of his fan art here. (http://the-mirrorball-man.deviantart.com/gallery/#Fanart)

Wow, what a blast from the past... Of all the young characters out there, her and Plasm were up there on my all-time favorites list.

It's a shame they killed her off, because she would have made a great addition to the 616 universe, in New X-Men, or even New Mutants.

...Gawd I wish they'd bring her back!!!! (and Plasm too). Both were energy/gelatenous based beings, so it's not like a writer can't get creative on bringing them back.

what was she like? I haven't read any of those issues of X-Static, and various comic sites don't really explain the characters attitude/personality all that well, so im curious to what made her a cool or bad character in terms of how fans viewed her.

Venus isn't a 'young' character like Profezzor X implies. X-Statix was a parody series featuring mutant celebrities in a big brother/survivor situation where their adventures were captured on film and with the death of their teleporter, Venus was signed up as a replacement. Venus is basically a disembodied piece of energy in a suit which allows her to feel things, something she hadn't been able to do for a long time, since she mutated basically.

Over the course of the series she dated their leader, Mr. Sensitive/Orphan, and their relationship was very tense because of his grief over the death of his previous girlfriend (the teleporter U-Go Girl). Eventually things began to change, especially when Prof. X developed a suit that would enable Venus to have vaginal intercourse and experience orgasm and this led to her rediscovering her long lost family as she teleported herself and Orphan in the throes of orgasm into the dimension her family were located.

Apart from some stuff, like Venus discovering U Go Girl's diaries, she remained pretty much the same throughout the series until her death.

I always pictured Rogue hearing about the Professor making Venus this suit and being like, "F*** you BALDY! What have you done for me lately!?!"

If I had to put a pin point on her personality, I'd say she was a lot like Rogue, but with a hint of Kitty... Kind of like the sassy girl-next-door, with a touch of innocence.

...Oh and did I mention that someone needs to bring her back, and to the 616?

I liked her but I don't feel a need for her return. Or anyone else from the X-Statix/X-Force book. Their storyline is done.

Venus Dee Milo was kind of boring compared to the other X-Statix characters, even though she had the best design.

I did like her backstory where she had a temper tantrum and ended up killing her entire family (although it was revealed she just teleported them to a resort or something). Overall her personality was really vanilla and was really Mister Sensitive's piece IMO.

Don't rain on my parade... Most characters don't start off as interesting right off the bat. It takes years of tampering from a variety of writers to give the character the right amount of interest and intrigue... And by the short span of the book, a couple of years was hardly enough time to accomplish that...

Rogue & Northstar are perfect examples of that. They weren't nearly as popular back in their beginnings as they are now. Same goes for a lot of the C & D listers that have been around for decades and have slowly crept up into stardom in the last decade.

This thread is offensive.

Venus is a cheap U Go Girl rip off. She sucked from start to finish.

Wow, that was uh... an earful, kind of disgusted by the sex suit thing, and really amazed at Xaviers ability to design sex suits, (all that brain power and seriously, your helpping people get laid? I don't know if your a humanitarian or a pervert.) I am mildly interested in her character now, though I kind of wish the sex thing disappeared all together.

Looks like she's really not dead at all... her molecules are just dispersed.

If Wonder Man can pull his molecules back together and reform, I'm sure she can too.

Here's Marvel's entry on the character (lots of details):

how about you pick up an issue of x-statix and find out. i dont know where you get the idea of all black women having small breast and chemically processed hair but considering venus didn't even have flesh let alone hair i think its safe to say she was far from the stero typical black hero.LOL YES THAT IS HILARIOUS......I LOVE YOU NOW

AND WHAT WOULD VENUS DEE MILO AND DUMMY'S SMOOSHED UP NAME BE

Funny, I don't remember saying all, are we running into a language barrier here? Generally associated means "common traits found in or relating to a subject matter." So I don't see the offensive part here, unless companionship is a generally associated behavioral pattern employed by more sophisticated lifeforms is also offensive to you and everyone who dared talk to another person Killerbee. We can't be subject to your view of what is and isn't offensive or berating. Perhaps you should just mellow out beat back those other generally associated behavioral traits associated with certain types of people.

So I don't see the offensive part here.....

I am offended by your signature. "Discharge" is a terrible name for a superhero. Was "Menstruation" taken or something? What about Gambit and Rogue's son being named "Ejaculate"? Or Nocturne and Iceman's kid being named "Nocturnal Emission"?
