Hated the main mini. But I enjoy Rucka's work, I see the trade is coming out tomorrow and I'm a fan of The Question and Batwoman. BUT....being involved with Final Crisis, it may just be destined to suck.....so....anyone read it and enjoy it?

It's Greg Rucka, writing Helena and Renee and Crispus.

Worth it.

Point taken. I actually picked up #1 back when it hit the comic shop and never read it, just dug through some boxes, found it, read it, and I can say I was liking it. I'll be grabbing the trade.

I enjoyed it alot. Well written and I enjoyed the biblical nature to the story.

Only thing I was a bit confused about was how this can possibly fit in time wise with Renee's appearances in the main Final Crisis series.

It was ok.

Seeing Dr. Light and Effigy "get theirs" for their part in murdering J'onn was definitely the highlight of the series for me.

Thought the minis and one-shots were better than Final Crisis itself.

Revelations is best read by completely ignoring Final Crisis' continuity. (Actually Final Crisis is best read by completely ignoring Final Crisis' continuity.)

I tend to shy away from the biblical stuff but even I found this a really enjoyable read. It felt epic yet was completely character driven. Rucka plays with his toys really well off of just a sliver of Morrison's vision.

It was the best thing to come out of Final Crisis IMO. It's really good, especially if your a Spectre fan.

I honestly didn't like it.

The twist it put on Vandal Savage didn't work for me, and I absolutely hate everything that's been done with Renee and Crispus, turning them from great cops into poor superheroes.

Better than the main mini. It felt even more epic than it. I like how Rucka characterized Darkseid as the "Anti-Lucifer." The whole biblical struggle was about choice and free will. Then a alien god suddently invades earth and tries to eliminate human free will. Simply awesome.

Greg Rucka writing his pet projects - excellently, of course. Give it a read. :)

Good lord, man, that comment's so metatextual that you may've just explained everyone's problems with it!

Now it'll MAKE SENSE!!!!

I agree with you, except for Renee Montoya becoming the new Question, something I actually like. The Vandal Savage into Cain move seemed so contrived and against the spirit of the character to me (I mean, Vandal Savage is all about Vandal Savage, not being the host to the first murderer). Crispus Allen as the Spectre is still not something I'm enthralled about, although I think it could be used well as it is closer to the Jim Corrigan incarnation of the character. The art by Tan did nothing for me as well.

Overall, it's a decent story but you do get a lot of the spectre, and also the new question, both characters which i either have enjoyed or am beginning to enjoy immensley...

also, the art, for the most part is pretty solid...i like the overall dark feel to the book...

The Christian mythology bits of the story felt really overused to me. And you pretty much need to have read the Crime Bible mini to get what is going on here.

Also, the ties to Final Crisis are kind of forced and it might as well have been called 52 Aftermath: Revelations.

It's very good.

Love the ending the most.

Nice ending.
