So who's your favorite Catwoman writer, either from her first ongoing, her second, a mini or her appearances in other titles/media?
I've read very little of Catwoman vol 1, but my answer would be Devin Grayson. Her fantastic arc, #58-60, is one of my all-time favorite comics. Seriously, read it, I can't spoil it for you, but it's truly epic.
Least favorite? Well, I haven't really read enough to have a least favorite.

I'm having trouble thinking of my least favourite but both Darwyn Cooke and Ed Brubaker have easily written my favourite version of Selina Kyle. Bru's first 25 issues of Catwoman and Darwyn's Selina's Big Score are both just stellar comics.

Favourite would definitely be Ed Brubaker. His collaboration with Darwyn Cooke and Cameron stewart was amazing.
Least favourite? Probably Chuck Dixon. But then, I generally find Dixon's writing fairly bland. Not bad per se, but nothing overly exciting either.

Ed Brubaker and Darwyn Cooke are easy faves.
I pretty much gave up on the series post-Brubaker.

I un-did your vote; see if it will let you vote again.
(I wondered who in the world would vote for Carlton.)

This is tough; I think Ed Brubaker and Will Pfeiffer were equally good. But since Bru will probably get a lot of votes from others, I guess I'll vote for Pfeiffer. However, Scotty is right about Devin Grayson; she did a real nice job too. (I'd probably rate her third.) Her NYC arc that took place during the first half of NML was particuarly good, as I recall.
I'd probably vote for Carlton as "worst." Those issues were dreadful.

Thats how I feel for pretty much everything he does. Catwoman, Iron Fist, Daredevil(sorry Diggle), etc.

Darwyn Cooke really should be on that poll.
But since he isn't, I went with Brubaker. :)

Oh my goodness, I completely forgot about that OGN he wrote! I keep meaning to get that and the Batman: Ego thing. Is Selina's Big Score any good?
Why do y'all love Brubaker so much? Just wondering.

Well, aside for the fact that the stories he wrote with her were excellent, he really redefined the character and is pretty much the guy responsible for making her one of my favourite comic book characters.
Also, you can get Ego and Selina's Big Score in the collection Batman Ego and Other Tales, which is all the stuff that Darwyn Cooke did with the Batman universe and I really couldn't recommend it highly enough.

Yes, Brubaker's run was seminal stuff and Catwoman is a far more interesting, rounded and deep character when she's on the good guys' side. Cooke and Stewart's artwork was absolutely perfect for the series too, it had the perfect detective / film noir feel to it. And Slam Bradley was great in these tales too, there's a great scene when he squares up to Batman. And the best Black Mask too! If anyone out there hasn't read these, i urge you to buy the first three TPBs immediately. If you like good comics or Catwoman or both, you won't be disappointed. (The fourth TPB isn't essential though. It's good but it's not part of the overall plot. Worth reading, still.)

Absolutely, it's brilliant. The last story where he rewrites the old classic tale (which i've completely forgotten the name of right now) is worth the price alone, but Ego and Selina's Big Score are great too, of course.
Just thinking about these comics is putting me in a bright, positive mood... they really are amazing.

I voted for Will Pfeiffer. Bru's was very good as well, almost a toss up.

Ed Brubaker, easily, heads and tails above any other write for me.
And surprisingly, though Paul Dini's one of my favorite Bat writers I don't tend to like the way he writes Catwoman. She seems to go from stand alone independent to team-girl under Dini's pen. She also tends to lose a lot of her oomph and combat capability.
Brubaker I love because he gave me some of my favorite Cat stories back when she was still a thief, and I really dislike Selina as a heroic character, I find her far more interesting as a Robin hood type with a self-indulgent streak .

Why the hate for Moench?

Nothing wrong with Moench but his Catwoman made no impression on me whatsoever. He did some great Batman back in the day though.

Brubaker.
I really do enjoy Dini's Catwoman, but I feel he relies a little too much on her relationship with Bruce.

I agree 100%.
What stuff did Bronwyn Carlton write?
Catwoman (1st series) #78-86, 88-91 (the issues immediately following NML)
And, by the way, the three remaining issues (92-94) by John Francis Moore weren't so hot either.
On the other hand, Devin Grayson's pretty decent run was Catwoman (first series) #54-71 and especially the NYC stories that took place during the first half of NML (66-71).
In between were John Ostrander's pretty decent direct tie-in's to NML (72-77).

I was trying to remember what Mindy Newell wrote, and then I remembered it was "Her Sister's Keeper" (which I had somehow remembered as being titled Catwoman Year One). I liked this a lot, though I haven't read it in years. There was also a follow-up story in Action Comics Weekly.
It occurs to me that we have also inadvertently left Jeph Loeb off this list.

There are a few writers I wish I could have included like Loeb. I tried to cover the big ones, and now that I think about it, I should have left Newell off for him. Or maybe I should have kept her because she's pretty much post-Crisis Selina until her ongoing.
There are a few writers who I really, really would LOVE to see writing Catwoman for more then just a few appearances or an issue - Anderson Gabrych and Ivory Madison come to mind. They both had some really neat things to say about her when she did appear in their series. What about you guys?

Of course, Loeb!! How could we forget him? That would bump Devin to #2 for me.
I loved his Selina in the Long Halloween/Dark Victory & When In Rome. She was sophisticated, pragmatic and had a cheeky wit about her.
I voted for Will.
Brubaker didn't get good until issu #16. Will actually had a lot of respect for her and portrayed her well as an intelligent adult woman. My least favourite Catwoman writer was Jeph Loeb, his 'hoochie mamma' potrayal of her made my teeth grit.
