Dirty Deeds!

"Dirty Deeds" is a series of threads where a discussion can be held about the morally questionable, or outright evil acts of characters in comics. It might be a discussion about times a hero crossed a moral line they shouldn't have, or a discussion of a villain's most horrific acts in their history, but the premise remains the same.

Where possible, a poll will be included to vote upon said character's "dirtiest deed".

Please do remember that there are no wrong answers, this is all a matter of opinion. Since everyone has a different set of morals, please try and respect differences in people's own beliefs.

So what is Longshot’s "Dirtiest Deed"??

- Breaking onto a movie set? (Longshot (vol. 1) #1 )

- Attempting to steal experimental diamonds from the Con Edison power company, causing a state-wide blackout? (Longshot (vol. 1) #3)

- Leaving Quark to fight Gog and Magog alone? (Longshot (vol. 1) #5)

- Leaving behind his wife and children in the Mojoverse, never again thinking about any of them? (revealed in Longshot (vol. 1) #5)

- Serving as Mojo’s “Trojan Horse” to attack the X-Men and make them into the first X-Babies? (Uncanny X-Men Annual (vol. 1) #1)

- Resisting arrest at the hands of Freedom Force? (Uncanny X-Men #225)

- Asking Rogue to participate in a group hug, in a moment of total insensitivity? (Uncanny X-Men #218)

- While the rest of the X-Men were busy battling the Goblyn Queen, having an intense romantic encounter with Dazzler on the floor? (Uncanny X-Men #242)

- Sleeping with Dazzler while she had swapped bodies with Diamondback? (Uncanny X-Men Annual (vol. 1) #13)

- Crashing through the window of Dazzler’s Malibu Beach home? (X-Men (vol. 2) #5)

- Standing by and doing nothing while Mojo’s security forces gunned down Dazzler? (X-Men (vol. 2) #10)

- Setting up Mojo II as new ruler of the Mojoverse following the defeat of his father? (X-Men (vol. 2) #11)

- Aggravating the fragile mental states of the population a psychiatric asylum where he’d been committed before escaping himself? (Longshot (vol. 2) #1)

- Breaking into Dr. Strange’s Sanctum Santorum? (X-Force (vol. 1) #60)

- Placing Shatterstar’s soul into the comatose form of Benjamin Russell? (revealed in X-Force (vol. 1) #61)

- Watching Dazzler’s “Behind the Music” special in the Mojoverse, leaving her to change the diapers of all the X-Babies, while commenting how glad she must be to have “settled down”? (X-Men Unlimited (vol. 1) #32)

- Refusing to help the Exiles battle Mojo for their freedom because of a severe case of self doubt, even though they broke him out of prison? (X-Men Unlimited (vol. 1) #19)

- Throwing one of his daggers into the eye-slit of the armor of Iron Man from Earth-2020, blinding him in one eye? (Exiles (vol. 1) #83)

- Throwing one of his daggers into the skull of Emma Frost from Earth-27538? (Exiles (vol. 1) #89)

- Assaulting his own Exiles teammate, Blink? (Exiles (vol. 1) #91)

He’s an extradimensional alien gladiator with a golden mullet and the inability to give anyone the middle finger! Now, vote for what you think is the worst of Longshot’s “Dirty Deeds”!

For the record, I love the panel of Mephisto saying, "BAH!" and then throwing Longshot aside like a piece of trash. It's so delightfully callous.

Defiling Dazzler's Divine Body and Person.

Oh, Ben. Once you've serviced your 100th satisfied customer, I don't think you can really be "defiled" anymore. "Ridden hard and put away wet," maybe.

I'm gonna go with the sleeping with Dazzler in Diamondback's body one. One, because he's sleeping with Dazzler; and two, because it's someone else's body who didn't consent to it. Granted, Diamondback probably has one or two fewer STDs than Ali, but what if she'd gotten pregnant or caught Dazzler's herpes? That would've been awkward.

Well, he's not a rapist -- Dazzler, to no one's surprise, gave consent -- but yeah, that is pretty skeazy. That joke always bothered me, even back then. Not a great annual in general, but even worse because of that.

Isn't that because his powers saw her future?

Well, except for their sexual preferences and Shatterstar taking their people's "Mojoverse warrior" thing more aggressively, how are they that much different?

I would have added "helping Mojo II to power."

The forgotten wife and kids would be a good one as well.

Taking Ricochet Rita with him to the Mojoverse, where she would one day be transformed into Spiral is pretty sad as well (he isn't to blame, but that has never mattered in these threads has it?)

It was supposed to have been, yeah. During Kitty's "ghost" phase after Mutant Massacre. Still sounds harsh, though.

Well, Mojo II is an interesting thing. Longshot and Ali were who the people wanted as royalty after Mojo I's defeat. Mojo II convinced him he was deposing Dad because he was a tyrant, but was lying and was a tyrant himself.\
The forgotten wife and kids? *checks* Huh. Gog taunts him about that, yeah. I'll add it.
The Rita thing was more of Mojo and Spiral kidnapping her, I'd give him a pass on that.

I'll add the first two, I suppose.

That was the smartest thing anyone not named "Mr Sinister" did during the entirety of that crossover so I think it should be excluded from the list :)

They are very different. Longshot is optimistic, Shatterstar isn't, really. Longshot cracks jokes, whereas Shatterstar doesn't have much of a sense of humour (it's there, just small); Longshot enjoys socialization, whereas Shatterstar is more introverted and spends a lot of time alone training and meditating; Longshot is easily swayed, whereas Shatterstar is more controlling; Longshot takes a long time to adapt to cultures, whereas Shatterstar learns very quickly. They also look different, have different speech patterns, different power sets, and come from different timelines.

But I guess that's all.

I seem to remember there was an old uncanny x-men in the old outback days where he was making time with rogue, who was dressed as Dazzler. And when dazzler got mad he gave her a guilt trip about being possessive. Dunno how dirty the deed was but I feel it was in fact a dick move.

Plus now that thy're both in active continuity, completely ignoring dazzler, his second wife if I remember correectly. Also isn't he a bigamist then? are we sure his first wife's dead?

Plus he's a Man-whore who would shag mud if it'd tell him iy wanted him

Close to worst hair ever.

Also letting Dazzler get gunned down is unforgivable.

As far as the bigamy goes, I don't think anyone recognizes Mojoworld marriages in the US courts. We don't know if that first wife is dead, or if he forgot, or what. Really, given Mojo's penchant for revenge, and violence, it's likely he offed all of Longshot's wife and children, in an attempt to control him.

As far as Dazzler and he getting "divorced" from his second Mojoworld marriage... well, she's got that magna cum laude law degree. If she needed to file paperwork, girlfriend woulda.

Saying you're married in the Mojoverse is as good as having exchanged body fluids.

Now, on the subject of when he and Rogue were "involved" while Rogue had jacked Dazzler's wardrobe? Longshot really didn't do anything to make this one bad, save for have a poor understanding of jealousy, and monogamous relationships. But I mean, he didn't get SNOW either (no, not the Canadian reggae rapper who did "Informer", just the weather condition known as snow). He's like legally mentally challenged, or something.

No, he was like legally a five-year-old at the time... he didn't recover from that pre-X-Men mindwipe nearly as quickly as the one in his limited series. Which to some extent probably makes Dazzler guilty of statutory rape, but whatever, it's not like anyone's going to prosecute her.

Man, that whole relationship was creepy, really. Dammit CC, why'd you have to put those two together? It was like the worst relationship possible for both characters.

At least we know Longshot never gave her "the shocker". He doesn't have the prerequisite digits.

- Standing by and doing nothing while Mojo’s security forces gunned down Dazzler? (X-Men (vol. 2) #10)

What about the missing fingers? I think that's pretty gross and only works for Nightcrawler.

As a genetically engineered being from another dimension, Longshot is humanoid but has a number of design differences from humans. Among them are four digits on each hand instead of five, skin that's leathery to the touch, two hearts, an enhanced lifespan, and hollow bones.

Although to wbe's point, he might still be able to do the shocker, it depends on how far apart Dazzler's...

...you know, let's not even go there.

So longshot, banshee, cyclops, wolverine and colossus are all deadbeat daddies?

This is a perfect thread for you people cause Longshot is gayer than Richard Simmons.

Mind avoiding throwing the word "Gay" around as an insult?

And as a representative of the folks on the dude train on here, please don't associate us with something as flamey as Richard Simmons.

At last, something I can agree with you on in this thread!

I don't think he's nearly as naive as he claims to be; he simply plays that card when it suits him.

Yes. Gambit would be, too, were it not for his lazy sperm.
