View Full Version : Help a Brutha' Out: Brotherhood Recruitment Drive

I don't feel like Appreciating right now, so I thought I'd make a fluffy, fun poll.

Now that The Blob is depowered and Pyro is dead, who do you see as potential recruits for a new lineup?

http://img22.imageshack.us/img22/1815/brotherhooda.jpg
Ladies Mastermind, Mystique's right-hand woman(s)?

The Acolytes, the Brohood's now-disbanded sister group?

Sunfire, former X-Man who is angry forsomereason?

Lorelei Travis, who...dances?

Hellion/Quentin Quire and Match, bad boys who need guidance?

Daken, the breakout superstar?

Vanisher, X-Force's van-on-a-leash?

Typhoid Mary, who is also not Jean Grey?

Poklaris, the green witch?

Other - I hate you, Faded because I want to be you and/or you forgot to include Briquette.

I also wanted to include Johnny Kitano (http://www.comicvine.com/johnny-kitano/29-4283/) (who would probably have to be forced to work with Mystique), The Host, or Thumbelina as a Blob replacement but I figured ya'll wouldn't know who they were.

Hell, ya'll probably don't know who all these nobodies (ed. I say this with love) are anyway.

Pulse and Gambit are some possiblities, too, if you wanna go B-List.

Vote.

<3

(Just so you guys know, I did do a search and didn't see anything for ten pages so I don't want to hear your noise).

Fuck I forgot the poll.

I want to be Faded, but that's neither here nor there. If you want The Brotherhood to match the lineup of The Sisterhood, you will need: John Sublime, Exodus, The Presence, Swarm, Donald Pierce, aaannnnnnnnd... I dunno, Vincente?

I'd love to see Exodus take on some of the younger mutants for training/guidance (Hellion, Match, etc), but I don't see starting a new Brotherhood as being productive for him, or anyone for that matter, with the current state of affairs.

Its a regression for him, and takes away what Carey did for him at the end of the Xavier arc in Legacy.

Hellion, Mastermind and Acolytes (Frenzy, Unuscione, Random), Avalanche led by a driven and determined Mystique.

I don't see how it makes them any more interesting... in fact, i think it would make them less so unless they're given a valid reason to turn and goals to achieve. Julian's always been borderline on the mutant supremacy issue, and Sunfire has a temper and honor issues, but they're not bad in any sense.

If the Brotherhood comes back as a true alternative to the X-Men instead of immediate antagonists, then I'll support it... if not, then it doesn't make sense for them to be there.

She was included under Ladies Mastermind, but if she was indeed already a member I shouldn't have included her. I tried choosing people who haven't been members yet.

I agree.

Hellion straddled the fence long enough to play up the whole undecided thing, but there are too many X-Kids playing hero.

Sunfire I think makes a more exciting villain, but he has no strong motivation. He lacked a certain quality to him for a while, but I like the idea of him working with Mystique again.

It has to stay recognizable, so either Magneto, Mystique, Toad, Avalanche, or Blob must be there. One or all, doesn't matter.

I prefer Toad nd Avalanche, maybe Phat Blawb if he would come back.

Someome made a suggested in the 'New X-Men Discussion Thread' about Prodigy and the Stepford Cuckoos forming a Brotherhood on their own. I love it! I'm still all-for it.

But here, Regan, Martinique, Daken and the Vanisher get my vote.

Nyssane
08-03-2009, 11:09 AM
My ideal Brotherhood:

Mystique -- leader, more like her Freedom Force days.
Avalanche -- Mystique's second-in-command and best (only) friend.
Mastermind -- resident telepath/illusionist.
Toad -- because it'd be fun to see him and Martinique together.
Frenzy -- team powerhouse, I could see her following Mystique now that the Acolytes are over; she replaces Blob.
Sunfire -- he needs somewhere to go, and he can be Pyro's replacement since the poor Aussie is dead.
Empath -- he might be kind of redundant with Mastermind around, but he's kewl regardless.
Shinobi Shaw -- he's not doing anything, so I think he should make his way into this group.
Dragoness -- exact same reason as Shinobi. OMG, if this team did happen, it'd be so Japanese-centric (Sunfire, Shaw, and Ms. Kurtz?!).

I wouldn't add anyone on this list, FADED, because:

Regan isn't necessary with Martinique around.

There can't be TOO many Acolytes or else it'll turn into the Acolytes and not the Brotherhood.

Sunfire... well, okay, one person on your list.

Lorelei Travis is the worst character in existence.

Hellion/Kid Omega (isn't he dead?)/Match... no. If Mystique is leading, she's not stupid enough to hire a bunch of reckless teenagers over veterans like Lanchey and Fren-Fren.

Daken would never work well with the group, and he's too psychotic to anyway.

Vanisher is much better on X-Force than as a regular villain, and more interesting than he's ever been.

Typhoid Mary isn't an X-Character and it should stay that way.

Polaris is the second worst character in existence.

In conclusion, I hate you FadeFade for not including Briquette. Okay how can I lie? I love you. I want your sweet cherry pie.

You have no soul. She's a stripper with prehensile hair. What part of this does not scream 'not worst character in existence'!

And yet he is on two, having the time of his life just messing with all their heads.

I voted for Hellion/Kid Omega/Match and Daken.

Personally i really dont give a shit about Kid Omega cuse he's a blob of goo right now and Match is just a Hot Head (pun intended).

But Hellion is really were its at; one of his defining character traits over the corse of his time in X-Men is that he's walked a fine line between hero and villain when it comes to ideology. Sure i think it's cool when he's a good guy; but i think it could do a lot of characters good if he did a stint with actual bad guys for a while. It could not only develop his character but cause characters like Rockslide, Mercury and defiantly Laura to grow because they're favorite telekinetic is a bad guy

And yet he is on two, having the time of his life just messing with all their heads.

Daken can do no wrong in my eyes; plus the Hood needs someone who can stand up to Logan and Laura now that Sabertooth is gone with the wind

what would be in it for Shinobi? he doesn't care a thing about the mutant condition. he doesn't like fighting or exerting himself. he's a wealthy individual who likes bubble baths and gisha girls. why would he slum it with these folks? Empath i can understand because he's nuts. Sunfire's iffy but seems to have had a lot of problems being mind-controlled. the rest are cool. :')

Avalanche -- Mystique's second-in-command and best (only) friend.
Mastermind -- resident telepath/illusionist.
Toad -- because it'd be fun to see him and Martinique together.

You're mean. :(

LOL

I'm defending:

Vanisher - I agree with you, but I don't think he's gonna be on X-Force forever. He's either gonna find a way out of his predicament, be stabbed, or die of brain cancer. Maybe all of the above.

The Acolytes have dissolved (for now), so I definitely think Frenzy and Unuscione at least are still gonna want to be in some action and are smart enough not to go about it alone.

The rest I more or less agree with you and just put those options out there.

But Hellion is really were its at; one of his defining character traits over the corse of his time in X-Men is that he's walked a fine line between hero and villain when it comes to ideology.
