I'm so glad Ultimatum is over. The event was crap but the fallout, aftermath and relaunch are definitely good.

The X-Men one is horrible. It's bad enough Loeb was doing his best to make Nick Fury look like the biggest douche in the universe, now his flunkies are doing the exact same thing to Carol Danvers. Like seriously.

Its been well established in USM that Carol Danvers was a far bigger joke than Nick Fury.

So will the Ultimate Fantastic Four be wrapping up the Dormammu story?

Just another piece of proof that no one cares about him, not even the writers.

Wolverine's claw surviving can only mean one thing; he's coming back.

Especially because Kitty is trying to get it back

Woah. Oliver's art looks fantastic with that colorist.

Hell yeah, he is.

Yep. And I like Kitty's new Ultimate costume. IMO Wolverine should wear something like this when he comes back:

Pehaps with the mask being more like a helmet (like Kitty's or Ultimate Captain America's).

Yeah, it really does. Much better than it did during the 'Cable' Ultimate X-men arc with Kirkman.

That didn't take long to bring Wolverine back.

That didn't take long to bring Wolverine back.

I'm sure they'll try to stretch it out over several issues, maybe even several arcs. I'm sure they showed that to keep wolverine fans who were pissed he died interested.

If there is a miniscule amount of dna left over from Wolverine's body, you can bet your sweet-ass he'll be back... And considering his bones are protected with the adamantium, chances are he'll be able to regenerate himself again.... sigh.

...It's just funny that even as a dead character, he still manages to make an appearance.

I got to feel for Johnny, the last thing he saw before passing out was his dad drowning. :frown:

If it helps, Jean seemed to have held on to his visors in the last page.

But yeah, it's hard being a Cyclops fan when writers give him so much crap.

Is it just me or does the UXM one seem a lot....happier than the rest of them? They got hit the most but they are the least emo in how writing.

She may be less competent but a coldhearted monster that eats babies?

She may be less competent but a coldhearted monster that eats babies? not baby eating bad but she always came off as a Coldhearted Jerk who was more amoral than Nick Fury.

not baby eating bad but she always came off as a Coldhearted Jerk who was more amoral than Nick Fury.

Not really. I always figured her as someone which try to be cold hearted but kind of fail in that. Like when she released Gwen Stacy even though she was suuposed to let her atay in custody.

The Harry Osborn "trap" is not something that Fury would not do.

And shooting Norman in the back of the head... well, I think someone should teleport her to 616 pronto.

True very true. Okay so I was a bit harsh on her but she did treat Peter worse than Nick Fury did (after the clone saga)

I agree.
But Fury and Parker have some kind of personal bond in the ultimate universe (one which is worth exploring BTW).

Carol and Peter - not so much

Not really when you think about it;

They've both decided to go against mutants after a major crisis (both cases caused by Magneto
They've both used Harry as bait to get to Norman Osborn (Fury in Ultimate Six, and Davners in the more recent arc)
They've both "recruited" Peter one time or another to deal with a situation

Really, the only difference between the two is Davner's is more incompetent, and Fury has a longer history with Peter (which more recent has been positive so he doesn't come off as a complete jerk.)

Wow first Ultimate Emma bites the dust noe Cyclops. Am starting to think both must live or both die as if their actually the same person lol. Anyways Am gonna pray I can get my hands on this bad boy and it's super nice to see Rogue and Kitty

P.S. I wanted Ultimate Martinique

I wouldn't call her incompetent, I mean Fury himself promoted her and cleared the way for her to take his place when he disappeared. Fury just overshadows everyone else, including his predecessor (Ross) and his successor (Danvers). Why? Because he has style up to his eyeball.

Yeah, her and Fury's methods don't really differ much if at all. Fury just had a more intimate relationship with Peter and it made him look better.

Fury went after the x-men in ultimate war, not mutants in general.

Ryder

Okay I just finished reading them and they were good. The F4 did provided a realistic reason for the team breaking up and it did a good job of Explaining what happened to Johnny. X-men Requiem did give Dazzler and the others a good funeral but it made it seem that Wolverine was 100% dead, which is weird. Also it didn't explain the deaths that we missed and there was no explanation of what happened to Liz!

carabas

there was no explanation of what happened to Liz!It seems unlikely that Bendis is just going to give up a long-standing cast member uf USM. Most likely, nothing at all happened to her.

OrpheusTelos

So Wolvie is actually dead until otherwise said. I guess I can live with that. They killed off Wolverine while still leaving the back door open for a possible return.

I still found his death retarded though. I mean seriously, the other heroes literally just stood around while Magneto ripped the dude to shreds. <_<

So we really do have to take their word that Psylock and Toad are dead? They couldn't even say a single sentence about it?

Though...some of those in the graves better come back. No amount of writing, no matter what the quality, could make up for the insulting ways they went. I will only accept some sort of revival or way for them to speak to a psychic.

Wow. Apparently the Editors at Marvel, as has been rumored and joked about for SO long actually DON'T do anything.

Anyone read the "Obituary of Dr. Franklin Storm" closely? It alternately identifies him as "Dr. Franklin RICHARDS" and "Dr. Storm" in different parts of the SAME Daily Bugle article.

Why does Marvel have an Editorial staff again? Someone remind me.

ijffdrie

yeah, marvel really needs some new editors, and that isnt just the whiny fanboy in me speaking.

but the ultimatum: FF requiem was pretty decent. Strange's death was a little too casual, But the fantastic four breaking up was done decent enough.

Yeah, I mean is it "whiny" to hope that they can get their OWN character names right? Or that an editor would catch it if the artist screwed up (and that means the writer, who sees the art as well missed it too). That's THREE people screwing up, at a bare minimum.
