At SDCC, Scott Kolins drew me a sick ass full page of Doctor Doom crackling with the Silver Surfer's power.
He said it was from a story that he really liked in which Doom takes Surfer's powers and is overwhelmed by them.
I can't recall which story this is.....does anyone else?

Let's see, Wikipedia says that Doom stole the Surfer's powers in Fantastic Four #57 in December '66, and lost them in issue #60 March '67.

That would be Jack Kirby's famous splash page from FF #57
Here's the original and another tribute along side from Silver Surfer: Loftier than Mortals mini series from a few years back:
Sal Velutto's rendition is on the left, the Jack Kirby/Joe Sinnott orginal is on the right complete with the famous Kirby Krackle.

Yes, I'd like to see that too. Can ou scan it and post it, pretty please?
Ya feel almost bad for Surfer, as that's quite possibly his most famous pose.

I cannot agree with that statement. SS#1, standing on the board, right arm and fingers outstretched.

Yes, it has been published as part of the Masterworks series.
One online store I've used quite a bit is Tales of Wonder. Here's a listing of the volume that contains FF 51-60. Your Scott Kolins page is from issue #57 FF Masterworks Volume 6 (http://talesofwonder.com/product-exec/product_id/47917/category_id/32/sc/1,21,30,32)

Seriously, if Kirby drew a picture of a banana against a white background, I wouldnt be able to stop staring at it. His work is the dictionary definition of Awesome.

I agree, that's definitely his iconic image. It's on a stamp and everything!
