I know Banner's resistance to succomb to the Hulk's power or persona has been a great running story since the beginning. But what if he really apllied that big brain to develop the full potential of ths awesome power gamma? Hulk has accidently beaten the most powerful beings on Earth with Banner training his lesser used powers like pschic attack resistance, ability to see into the astral plane, uncanny sense of direction, space adaptation and other abilities we have glimpsed over the years.

I think PAD did that version at the end of his run...the very end of it. That's the version we would have seen...

Secret Wars Hulk was like this. The problem is that in Hulk form, Banner can never quite get his full brain power running at top speed, and often times succumbs to fits of rage.

They can do this, but wouldn't keep it going for long. The core of the character would be changed.

I thought the Green Skar persona from the end of Plant Hulk and World War Hulk was basically the Hulk without resistance from Banner.

If Banner Embraced the Hulk, Hulk might sue him for sexual harassement. Bad Banner. Bad, Bad, Bad Banner. Keep your hands to yourself (which he might be doing, and in that case, there's a whole 'nother conversation there to discuss).

This. There was no resistance from Banner during either storyline.

That would be like the him embracing nuclear wepon.
It shouldn't be embraced. He'll become drunk with power and turn evil.

Yeah, mainly because Banner couldn't survive longer than about five seconds on Sakaar.
Also, on the return to Earth, Banner and Hulk both wanted revenge for Caiera and thus they co-operated with each other.

That's basically what the Maestro was.
In Planetary, one character theorized that the Wildstorm Universe's Hulk analogue was responsible for his own transformation due to running a mathematical equation in his brain at a key moment. Quite the fascinating take on the character.

What has Banner done really, anyway? Banner is just the Negative Zone Rick Jones of the Hulk. Banner doesn't have the redeeming features of say a Doctor Don Blake alter ego. Sure. Let Banner remain the Hulk for a time, until some writer comes up with a cool idea to make Banner a viable character. Right now, I could care less about Banner. I had more investment in the Green Scar than any Hulk in the past, and GS was interesting because he was smart.
What are the achievements of Bruce Banner? He was a nuclear physicist, who experimented in Gamma tech. If Banner had only specialised in the Gamma family and made a dynasty like the X-Dynasty, and became the Patriarch, like Xavier, maybe Banner would have meant something. Hell, Cho even gave Banner Gamma World, and he ignored it. If Marvel want to reinvigorate Bruce Banner they have to expand his influence, and contacts. There should be a Hulk Brigade that the world sees as the heavy hitters of the super heroes. Do a Civil War Hulk, and conscript the Leader and Abomination into his team. Leave Banner in human state, and only make the Hulk come out when the chips are really down. Then Bruce and Cho could be father and son.

Not quite, Maestro wasn't really Banner, he was a separate personality from both Banner and Hulk, sort of like an evil Professor Hulk.

I thought that's what the Professor Hulk was before he was retconned to be an idealized version of the Hulk. I liked the Professor since he wasn't constantly angsting about being a monster, leave me alone, etc. I thought the arrangement that Banner and Hulk established between one another, at the end of PAD's run, was also a good deal. WW-Hulk also seemed to be an arrangement too, where Banner let Hulk handle everything with Banner's blessing. The Hulk(s) and Banner working together is much better than the Hulk Smash-hate Banner aspect.

It depends on the circumstances, the traditional mutual hatred made an amusing What If? story in the What If? Planet Hulk special, where he wound up on the planet the Illuminati had originally intended to send him to, played out sort of like in old cartoons and sitcoms, "This side of the planet is mine, and that side belongs to you!"

through meditation Bruce has been able to chanel the hulks power in his own body. I Banner excepted his pain his fractured mind would become whole and he would be Banner with all the power of the strongest of the hulks. in essence banner would acend to a level of power of ungodly and with his mind and full emotinal range in tact and whole unlike any time in his life....it would destroy the hulk.

Maybe they turned him into that later (after the PAD run I stopped collecting Hulk for a long while), but during the Future Imperfect story the Maestro was very much intended to be Banner
