View Full Version : The Hulk's lesser-known power: hair growth!

A lot of the "Rulk = Ross" deniers have been pointing to the fact that Rulk has no moustache, while Ross does. Some have speculated that Ross could be sporting a fake moustache. I prefer the Hulkish answer: he's using gamma-powered hair growth!

This power is entirely within Hulk-continuity, as there's plenty of examples of Hulk growing or losing hair, often while in the midst of changing. I give you the following examples:

- From Hulk #324 onward, the grey Hulk would often sport a little "Moe" haircut, while Banner would have a full head of hair. It's possible that this was artistic license, or that Banner's hair simply retracted when he got bigger. However, note that when Green Hulk returned in #372, Grey Hulk still had the "Moe" cut while Green Hulk had hair like Banner's.

- In Incredible Hulk #439, the Hulk is sporting a full beard. It's possible that he's wearing a fake, but it's implied that he spontaneously grows it.

- In Incredible Hulk #468-474, Banner sports a goatee while Hulk has none. This one clearly isn't a fake, as we see Banner fully change into Hulk while the beard disappears.

- In Incredible Hulk (vol. 2) #19, while General Ryker tortures Hulk, he spontaneously shifts into various Hulk forms. Some have no hair, while others have lots of it.

Thus, I present to you clear evidence that hair growth/loss is a Hulkish power. It is therefore quite possible that a moustache-bearing Ross could become the non-moustached Rulk.

Or, he could be wearing a fake. You decide.

Wait, I thought Ross was talking to Samson about Rulk failing? Thus how could it be Ross?

If Im wrong that that's who I would have thought too.

There is evidence that Ross there was an LMD. In issue #600 we learn that Modok has advanced LMDs working for him and there is a panel in the beginning with Ross and a couple of others standing rather robotically in his lab.

How can you tell there standing robotically from a single panel? from any panel for that matter? It's all in the interpretation. This has been one of the worst written mysteries I have ever read, way worse than the Spiderman clone saga. Even Sherlock Holmes couldn't figure this one out.

I'm sure that if you can accept a man being at ground zero to a Nuclear bomb going off and subsequently changing into a heavily muscled green giant, you can also accept that his hair changes when he does so.

Certainly Samson's hair gets long again when he turns into evil Samson. And back to short when good.

Ross appears to be one of the MODOK brainwashed people. As we all know, brainwashing makes you stand robotically.

Not really. Loeb goes and sets up the red beam as a possible answer. The Beam could of caused Red Hulk to be created from Hulks body. And he has actual no power down state. Which could also explain why MODOK kidnapped Walters. He's going to do the same thing to her and create her evil twin.

I experimented. I had someone brainwash me and when I came to, they told me I stood robotically the whole time. They failed to explain why I was wearing my underpants on my head however.
