A lot of the "Rulk = Ross" deniers have been pointing to the fact that Rulk has no moustache, while Ross does. Some have speculated that Ross could be sporting a fake moustache. I prefer the Hulkish answer: he's using gamma-powered hair growth!
This power is entirely within Hulk-continuity, as there's plenty of examples of Hulk growing or losing hair, often while in the midst of changing. I give you the following examples:
- From Hulk #324 onward, the grey Hulk would often sport a little "Moe" haircut, while Banner would have a full head of hair. It's possible that this was artistic license, or that Banner's hair simply retracted when he got bigger. However, note that when Green Hulk returned in #372, Grey Hulk still had the "Moe" cut while Green Hulk had hair like Banner's.
- In Incredible Hulk #439, the Hulk is sporting a full beard. It's possible that he's wearing a fake, but it's implied that he spontaneously grows it.
- In Incredible Hulk #468-474, Banner sports a goatee while Hulk has none. This one clearly isn't a fake, as we see Banner fully change into Hulk while the beard disappears.
- In Incredible Hulk (vol. 2) #19, while General Ryker tortures Hulk, he spontaneously shifts into various Hulk forms. Some have no hair, while others have lots of it.
Thus, I present to you clear evidence that hair growth/loss is a Hulkish power. It is therefore quite possible that a moustache-bearing Ross could become the non-moustached Rulk.
Or, he could be wearing a fake. You decide.
