Any body else love this series i bought a bunch of em like two years ago when i thought comic books were more about resale than story and art. Since then i have changed but i have a bunch from the #26 all the way to the last issue #150. I like the way the art work was back then and i liked the fact that there wasnt any real big story arcs and you just pick up and issue and be sucked in anybody else dig the old team ups?

Those written by Bill Mantlo and Chris Claremont were really good.

A lot of it, I didn't particularly care for, as too many of the stories seemed a tad too throwaway.
On the other hand, I loved Marvel Two-in-One, which seemed to take on the task of wrapping up just about every dangling plot thread dropped throughout Marvel's history.

MTU did that sometimes. The Satana story comes to mind. Also Woodgod.
MTIO wrapped up Modred the mystic, Scarecrow, Golem. Something else?

Isn't that A:TIs job now?

What did they wrap up? Plus it's not really needed these days since they don't cancel abruptly anymore and storis are wriiten in batch of six issues.

I'm sure there are more, but the only one I can think of off the top of my head is Skull the Slayer.

The most surprising part of the original MTU is how well-known loner Spider-Man worked so well alongside every hero he chanced upon each and every month.
This was something that Cap should have mentioned to Peter when he recruited him to be in the New Avengers. I was a little disappointed in that scene because of that lack of reference.

True.
It wrapped up Warlock in an annual that could have been an MTU annual as well.
Deathlok died as well in MTIO after his series was cancelled.

I LOVED the original series; most of the first 100 issues were very very good, in some cases better than what was going on in ASM and PP at the time. There are a few TPB collections (only black and white, sadly) that are a tremendous value compiling the first 50 or so issues that I highly recommend.

You can find Byrne issues in color in a few places. Spider-Man/Red Sonja, FF Visionaries vol 0. Definitely deserves a color run in the Marvel Premiere Classic collection

This is was the first comic series I ever read. It's still my favorite one. They need to release this in color HC and TPB.

Oh let's not forget the MTU with Spider-man and the Not Ready for Prime Time Players!

Team Up was good but I loved Marvel Two N One with The Thing. He seemed to be a natural tag team partner as Spiderman more of a loner.

I always thought Spidey was a loner because he's got a life & responsibilities. He couldn't drop everything to help his buddies out because he's got a job, a wife, Aunt May etc.
Batman, on the other hand, is a loner because he hates people.

I read a bunch. They're alright. As I was just starting out in comics I though it would be a good way to get to know a variety of characters, but it was always Spiderman and somebody else. Marvel Team-Up was really a Spiderman title. I wish they would have mixed it up a bit more with a variety of combos.

The first comic I ever bought was an issue of Marvel Team-Up (Marvel Team-Up #31, Spider-Man and Iron Fist!.) It got me into comics as a whole. I really loved that series. It's a shame it's gone.

Project Pegasus was in Two in One, as was the Thanos & the Soul Gems saga...

I disagree, it does still kind of matter that an issue stand alone. Every issue is still someone's first. That is why I like DC so much right now, you can pick up a random issue & still understand what is going on even if you missed an issue. Marvel has the recap page but sometimes that isn't enough.

What does that have to do with anything? We were saying that MTU and MTIO were used to wrap up the storylines of canceled titles because in these days, failing titles were canceled in the middle of a story. It doesn't happen anymore and so I say that there is no need of a title where to wrap up canceled storylines.

what about Squadron Supreme?
Issue 7 cliffhanger with redstone has to date never been resolved

Actually, it happens a lot. Just because a writer gets 6 or so issues a lot of times there are plot threads that never get resolved and some books, as noted Squadron Supreme, have ended on cliffhangers.

One example in 10 years? This was much more common in the 70s. Delays aren't cancellation. Ultimate Hulk/Wolverine was a delay not a cancellation, same for Viva Las Vegas, The Twelve.
