This sounds reminiscent of Steranko's ambitious History of Comics from the early 70's. I treasure the two volumes he did get printed and actively collect all the comic-related TwoMorrows product, with Alter Ego probably being my favorite.

I was so disappointed when I found out that "Write Now!" was coming to an end. As a writer, I use to find that magazine so incredibly helpful.
