Ok, so I know this isnt MM/HB related, but I gotta think that there are Darwyn Cooke fans here. The Hunter came out yesterday and it is hands down one of the coolest books to come out this year. I cant recommend it enough and i can only hope that there are others here that share by enthusiasm.
Check it out ASAP

Oh my goodness -- "Parker: the Hunter" is awesome! I'm only halfway thru and it is inspiring to say the least. I went out and got a copy of "the Hunter" when they announced this last year to read - what a great book!
I can't say how much I dig Darwyn Cooke's art style. George-The-Manager at my LCS (silversnail.com) picked up a fancy pantsy "Parker Portfolio" from IDW as well for me -- I guess I've been bugging him for this for months (similar "sideways" comic as Rocketo) with a bunch of paintings and lines of dialogue from the books -- all around awesome :)
I even dig the patterned endpapers!
Did I mention it's awesome?

Parker is excellent-- everything I had hoped for when I first heard it announced. It would be my favorite of 2009 so far if Mazzuccheli hadn't released Asterios Polyp.

Oh man, it's gorgeous stuff. It's a really, really hard-edged crime novel, very adult and serious, but it's deliciously drawn and expertly handled. I read it again before bed last night and I love it even more... Can't wait for the next three chapters!

Cooke said in an interview that the wait between books will be minimal now that he has the first one done.
Brilliant.

I loved Cooke's work in The Spirit so this sounds promising...
