Geek Syndicate, the Premiere pop culture site in the UK is now opening it's doors to writer, reporter and all around creative personality.
From The Generalissimo himself, Barry Nugent.
Hey all just another call out for anyone interested in reviewing stuff or submitting news stories/ writing columns for the GS website.
As all of you know a website like this can rise or fall depending on keeping the flow of updates a regular one. Thanks to some awesome listeners the website has been going great guns. The website was one of the reasons we were approached by Sony(it got flagged up on some marketing reports...not bad seeing as the site isn't even a year old) and offered the chance to interview Duncan Jones, the director of Moon. The website is starting to get noticed but we need need the help of you guys to keep it going with lots of different stuff. So if your interested drop me an email, pm or post in here. If you've got any ideas that we can incorporate into the website let us know. If you want to do something but don't want to write or anything and have a spare couple of quid then throw a donation in and help keep the site/podcast afloat.
If your artist and want to do some art of something to liven up the website in anyway then let us know.
Also with all the negativity in geekdom we've been talking about over the last few weeks this is a great way to get involved with a website that I hope will be a positive view of geekdom.
So put yer money where your mouth is and get involved. A few of you guys are already doing or are about to and I couldn't be more grateful for the help. We do get sent quite a few things that we just don't have the time to review and rather than let them fall through the cracks I would rather pass them to regular contributors to our website for review and everyone a winner. We are getting invited to screenings, press conferences and other events now and again we can't hit them all but we could send along regular reviewers to these events. We missed out on a screening/ press conference (attended by Micheal Mann and Johnny Depp) of Public Enemies a few weeks back because of this as an example. We couldn't attend and would have loved to have sent someone iin our place.
We're packing a Gi Joe fan/reviewer off to a screening of GI Joe next week (hopefully) so he can review it for us. Of course we won't be able to do that for everyone but the option is there.
My first request if there is anyone heading to the San-Diego Comic Con who is willing to do a few write ups for the website(really doesn't have to be much) then please get in touch.
If you're in the UK or would like to try your hand at reporting or reviewing, feel free to contact David Monteith and Barry Nugent at http://geeksyndicate.co.uk/
