The day Al Franken was sworn in and the Democrats in Congress got the magic 60 seats is a day marked by 2 things. Stuart Smalley is so gonna be awesome as a Senator. Because he's good enough , he's smart enough....and gosh darn it....people like him.

Also Walter Mondale (who is famous for losing to Reagan in the worst Presidential sweep since....McCain/Obama 08 ; walked Franken in and showed him around. It was a nice moment for this and people welcomed him pretty much and told him it wasn't gonna be an easy gig.
The Republican's also marked this occasion to unveil their new strategy to take back America. To show that Mark Sanford and Sarah Palin are just rare brain farts in an otherwise political party that is gonna gear up for 2012. This new strategy you ask ?
A few Republican senators decided to pick this moment to tell America , if things go to shit worse , blame the Democrats 1st ...since they have a majority in office. I shit you not.... 2 of them in a USA Today article basically said this.
The head slap you heard was the party losing even more credibility where it had little to spare. Now its like they really are sending a message... "Were not even gonna give a shit for the next 3-4 years , if things go worse...blame the other side since they now have the magic 60 seats of power now."
I suppose the last 8 years was what ? A Bobby Ewing dream from Dallas ?
