What are the old DC titles you want to see collected?

Personally, I want mainly two things-
The New Teen Titans, By Wolfman and Perez in paperback format and not the highly expensive archive.

Kamandi by Jack Kirby, same as in TNTT.

Well, Young Justice would be a good start.

This is what I'm really after right now as well. I really want to read this series, but the archieve editions are impossible to find at a reasonable price. So I'd be all for a paperback of the whole series!

The old pre-crisis Infinity Inc

Doesn't really qualify as an "old DC title" per se, but Grant/Breyfogle Batman.

Kamandi.

Kirby deserves Hardcover. All of the Fourth World is in HC, OMAC, Demon, and all of his Marvel work. Only way to get Kamandi....

Personally, I'd like to see:
Ostrander/Mandrake Spectre.... Omnibus style
All-Star Squadron
Blue Devil
all of the Kirby Super Powers books
both Kesel/Grummett Superboy runs (the best Superboy ever written, IMO)
Night Force

Ditto. I see no reason why they don't do this, especially considering other runs from that time are already/have already been collected.

I'd also suggest a complete Titans Hunt, since that was the last truly great Wolfman Titans story (IMHO, the series became absolute garbage thereafter).

70s Superman Tabloids (collecting the big books with Muhammad Ali, Captain Marvel, etc.)

Definitely need a reprint but should be a large hardcover absolute edition because the fights are epic and the art is gorgeous , but i think there's only like 3 of them - superman vs muhammed ali , vs Shazam and vs Wonder woman. I got the ali & shazam one , one of these days should get the wonder woman one as well.

Looks like they were doing it right with those 2 hardcovers - 10 issues a piece. But they cancelled the old DC Archives line, didn't they? I guess they'd have to restart with new hardcovers if they wanted to complete Kirby's run with matching books.

I'd like to see an Absolute Edition of Atari Force with all of Jose Luis Garcia-Lopez' production sketches included, add in all the Atari Force mini-comics, and the Star Raiders graphic novel that he did.

Also trades of Time Masters, Hex, All-Out War, The Hacker Files, Spanner's Galaxy, Lords of the Ultra Realm, The Barren Earth, New Talent Showcase, Rima the Jungle Girl, Korak son of Tarzan, Dan Jurgens' Flash Gordon maxi-series, and the Sun Devils.

And I'd like an Omnibus reprint of DC's seven sci-fi graphic novels: Demon With A Glass Hand, The Magic Goes Away, Nightwings, Frost and Fire, Hell on Earth, The Medusa Chain, and Sandkings. Just put them all in one book.

The original OMAC...One man Army Corp...YE HA...good stuff

Utility Belt
07-09-2009, 01:09 PM
Captain Carrot and his Amazing Zoo Crew.

Amethyst, Princess of Gemworld.

I second these choices, plus:
The Atlantis Chronicles (mini series about the origin of Aquaman's Atlantis)
Isis (lasted only 8 issues back in the 70's)
Starfire (not the Teen Titan, but another sci-fi action chick from the 70's)

I want Doug Moench and Kelley Jones III's entire run on Detective Comics collected. Really, really bad.

I second the vote for Hex.

That was collected in a hardcover recently.

Amethyst, Princess of Gemworld.

I wholeheartedly agree. I just finished reading the original Amethyst maxiseries, and I think it's an embarrassment that DC isn't keeping this comic in print. It's one of the rare DC comics that appeals to both genders and all ages.

Blue Devil's first 12 issues (or so) in trade

I'd also love the first 12 or so issues of Blue Beetle (Ted Kord) and Booster Gold from the 80s but more because I missed them and wished I'd given them more of a chance.

And yes, I'm man enough to admit it.. I LIKED Amethyst Princess of Gemworld... put her series in trade already

Suicide squad and Firestorm , both written by John Ostrander. Underrated gems and Ostrander is very much an underrated writer.

The Firestorm annual featured the suicide squad. Pretty cool annual. It's the JLI vs Suicide squad vs Parasite vs Firestorm for a major rumble.

Time Master came out a little while ago. I can't remember when I bought it but I do have it. Amazon has it in stock now.

It came out during or just after 52, as on the cover it promoted "Featuring 52's Rip Hunter!" Johns also wrote the intro (where I believe he said "this series was why I wrote Booster in 52").

Add me to the list of people wanting to see Kirby's Kamandi and Ostrander's Spectre collected.

Speaking of Ostrander, I'd also want to see his Hawkworld stuff collected. Probably one of my favourite versions of the Hawks DC's put out.

There was also a Hawkman story by Michael Lark that's worth re-releasing.

A collection of their Shadow stuff would be nice too. Obviously bringing the O'Neil/Kaluta stuff back in print but also collecting the Chaykin, Helfer, Sienkiewicz, Baker stuff but also the underappreciated The Shadow Strikes by Jones and Barreto.

That the Grant/Breyfogle Batman stories haven't been collected yet by DC is a shame. Some really enjoyable stuff there.

They're collecting The Brave and the Bold and DC Comics Presents right?

It was nice to see a collection of the first Doom Patrol stories. Hopefully we'll see some Firestorm collected too.

Grell's Warlord

Chaykin's Blackhawk

Steve Lightle's LSH

They've released a Showcase Presents the Warlord volume, Blackhawk is getting released next month, and they're continuing with the Baxter LSH series at a rate of one a year I think.

All of Wolfman's New Teen Titans/New Titans from the start up to the end of Titans Hunt should be reprinted in TPB form. That's ten years worth, but very much worth it.

i loved the 5 year gap legion. i recently went and dug up a few old back issues just for nostalgias sake and most of the back issues ran around 5 bucks a pop.

the new teen titans...not so much. you can find most of the wolfman/perez issues for less than a new comic these days and the post w and p issues...total quarter bin fodder.

Everything.

What you said.

In all seriouness, though: Young Justice, Impulse, Damage, Infinity Inc. (the first series), and All-Star Squadron.

And while I like the DC Archives, I'd like DC to collect more Golden Age comics in TPB. (Mainly because the Archives are way too expensive.)
