The MU is made up of myriad alternate dimensions, realities and timelines, so it's up to you to create a team of heroes to manage the threats of an Exiles team.

Maximum 8 characters.

Here's my choices:

Magneto (Age of Apocalypse)
Hyperion (Squadron Supreme)
Ravage 2099 (2099-verse)
Janice Jones (Future Imperfect-verse)
Thundra (Polemechus)
Justice (New Universe)
Killraven (Earth 691)
Conan The Barbarian (Earth 616)

Global Honored

Conan! That would be epic.

Sir Percy the Black Knight (Who says they have to all be from the present?) - 616
Kate Pryde (Days of the Future Past) - Earth-811
Juggernaut (What If? s2 #94 The kingdom of Cain)
Blur (Supreme Power) - Earth-31916
Matthew Murdoch (1602) - Earth-311
Jelene Anderson / Adept (Strikeforce: Morituri) - Earth-1287
Fallen (Mutant X) Earth-1298

I think there's a good mix of personalities and power sets here, and an Exiles team that really mixes up the game and plays all over the multi-verse.

Their main enemy? Why, the Purple Man of Earth-460, who has his sights set on the Multiverse, along with his Queen, Madelyne Pryor of Earth-9575...

Golden Age Sentry (Age of Sentry #4)

Dr Strange (trained by Stick, What if #83)

Elephant Steve (Mini-Marvels)

(All Spider-Man Team)

That's a good one, but I'll go you one better:

Wolverine, Agent of SHIELD
Albert (Earth 616 Wolverine robot)
The Fiend With No Name (Kitty's Fairy Tale)
Rancor (Guardians of the Galaxy future)
L'il Wolvie (X-Babies)
Captain Wolverine (Wolverine Noir)

And just for laughs, I'd toss in Pip the Troll, because I think he'd fit in well with this group.

I forgot Elephant Steve too.

He'll be mad. He's so sensitive.

If we both hug him, do you think it'll make him feel better?

I also would like to add Bob: Agent of Hydra to my list.

Victor Von Doom, from that classic What If? were he became a Hero.

Don't know who else I'd put on that team, but I'd put a Heroic Dr Doom at it's head. If for no other reason then seeing his reaction to every other reality where he's a villain.

Blink (yeah, I agree about the team needing her)

J2 (From Mc2 line)

Northstar (From a reality where Alpha Flight was the premier super team, and not the Avengers. He's yanked when during a battle with Moses Magnum, Northstar slams him in to the ground as Magnum uses his "earthquake" power. Between the speed Northstar slams him with and Moses's power it triggers an earthquake rating over a 10 on the richter scale destroying Toronto and the outlying areas. If he is successful in his missions with the Exiles he will be given another chance in the fight, if not his actions, and the resulting destruction push through a harsh version of the SHRA that ends with a more bleak version of The Days of Future's Past)

Terrax the Tracker- (On his home planet of Birj, Tyros was a benevolent dictator, doing everything he could to ensure peace and harmony. However when the being known as Galactus shows up to devour his world Tyros sacrifices his self to spare his planet. Galactus takes him and turns him to Terrax, Tracker of Worlds, under Galactus Terrax leads the devourer to uninhabited worlds which would satisfy Galactus's hunger. He is eventually tricked by the Mad God of Titan; Thanos and lead to what he percieves as an uninhabited planet. He signals Galactus who consumes the planet that at the last moment Terrax see's is the Seat for the Galactic Species Consulate, Hala. In retaliation the various species of the universe form a plan and destroy the Devourer upsetting the balance of power in the universe and allow Thanos to take Galactus's place. If he is successful Terrax will be allowed to see through Thanos's plan and stop him. If not, Thanos takes over Galactus's spot in the universe thus wreaking previously unknown havoc on the universe. This version of Terrax is slightly less powerful than the 616 version and refuses to kill)

Amadeus Cho (From a world where during WWH, Hulk went through with killing several of the Hero's. With no one to stop him Cho exposes himself to a similar form of Gamma radiation granting him Hulk level strength, but allowing him to retain his intellect and personality. He eventually stops his friend the Hulk by breaking his neck, then realizing the Hulk will heal, punching his way in to the Hulks chest and removing his heart. His story is tragic, if he succeds he still has to stop Hulk this way, and if he fails, he returns to his reality or dies. No matter what his friend still dies by his hands.)

Fantomex (A creation of the Weapon Plus program with a "space shuttle" nervous system, and the ability to fire blasts of energy from his hands, ranging from concussive similar to Cyclops's to heat energy, or even explosive energy, similar to a card thrown by Gambit. During a mission to infiltrate and kill the group known as the X-Men Fantomex has a sudden revalation that what he is doing is wrong, and with the help of Professor Jean Summers his Weapon Plus programing is purged. He joins the X-Men and becomes a productive team member serving for over 100 years until the last of his X-Men comrades, Micromax dies. After Micromax's death, he and EVA leave Earth to "Help out someone else out there". If he succeds, he lives out his life as normal, if he fails in his missions, he never breaks free of the Weapon Plus and is single handedly responsible for the deaths of the teams of X-Men, X-Force, X-Factor, and the X-Terminators.)

Plus I'd bring back the Timebroker, stating that the last team started to loose it realizing how little control they had and how large their job was. When they were given a bit of control their collective unconciousness took a mile, resulting in the deaths of their friends, while their minds tried to grasp what was going on. The 'Broker was forced to restart the team. He is constantly having to force one of the embodiements of "the Nexus of all Realities" (namely Havok from Mutant X) to help him move his team around, and locate realities in need of fixing. Havok is not happy about his situation, and swears he will break free, but so far the Timebroker has proven he is more than a match for him.

Don't know who else I'd put on that team, but I'd put a Heroic Dr Doom at it's head. If for no other reason then seeing his reaction to every other reality where he's a villain.

James Logan – James “Jimmy” Logan was just your ordinary letterman student until Victor Creed and his greaser gang jumped him and his gal the day before the prom. The serious beating jumpstarted Jimmy’s mutant power and made it possible to win the fight. Jimmy quickly realised what he was and decided to run away to spare his family the stigma of having a superbeing in the family, Senator McCartny had attacked superbeing nearly as hard as he had attacked the godless communists. Five days later when he was on a train toward Canada he was “recruited” to Exiles.
Jimmy is in many ways what people think of when they say All-America lad, sadly he is also a child of his time and has the normal prejudices against skin colour, political lining and nationalities of an 50’s Americas suburbanite, thankfully Jimmy is an intelligent lad and has realised that if what they said about superbeings are wrong maybe what they said about those other things is also wrong.
Except that he is more of a fish-out-of-water than his teammates Jimmy’s quirks and plothooks are that he find it strange that people expect him to pop out his claws (with hurts, a lot) and more-or-less go berserk in every fight and that they all, at least in the beginning, call him by his last name as if it was his given name.

Captain Italy from U. Marvel

Wolverine/Hawkeye from Onslaught Reborn

Doctor Crocodile of Earth-84444

Dolmen (http://www.internationalhero.co.uk/d/dolmen.htm) from Earth-616

Wolverine (Earth-811, Days of Future Past)
Spider-Man (Earth-9411, '90s Spider-Man: The Animated Series)
Captain America (Earth-9997, Earth X)
Deadpool (Messiah War)
Hulk (Earth-199999, Incredible Hulk (Movie, 2008)
She-Hulk (Earth-400285, 1996 Incredible Hulk cartoon)
Blink (Earth-295)
Morph (Earth-12)

The first arc features Earth-9411 Spider-Man and Madam Web traveling the multiverse, searching for for their earth's Mary Jane Watson (Where the Spidey cartoon left off). By travelling through the numerous dimensions, they inadvertantly free the Green Goblin of their earth from his dimensional exile, who follows the two weary travellers and attacks them. In the ensuing battle, Web's chair is damaged, and like the Beyonder of their dimension, her powers as well as her body begin to weaken. She only has enough power to transport herself and the Green Goblin back home to their reality and to teleport Spider-Man to the location of a team of reality hoppers (Blink and Mimic) who may be able to help him find his Mary Jane. Cartoon Spidey says he'll take his chances, and with that, he's gone. So begins a new on-going arc which will hopefully give the cartoon Spidey's story a fitting end.

This should be one of the straight to DVD films they do, just to cap off the plot from the series properly.

I would buy it in a second. I'm surprised they never even did a comic version of a finale of sorts to cap it off. It's better than nothing.
