This mini-series is going to be badass.

Although there has been a Red Torpedo before. Jim Lockhart; Golden Age hero; had his own submarine. Prominently featured in that five-issue All-Star Squadron arc where Uncle Sam recruited heroes to go help out on Earth-X.

I wondered if they might be going this route, but I thought ... Tornado and Volcano are more natural disasters and that they'd go with Red Hurricane or Red Whirlpool instead.

But, cool.

I doubt Jimmy Lockhart'll be too mad, he's done pretty damn well for himself since he was the Golden Age Red Torpedo ... guy has a floating, mobile castle filled with eccentric oceanographers and psychics ... is friends with Aquaman ... goes way back with Neptune Perkins and Tsunami ... can't go wrong. He even has Vulko's ghost living in his basement.

Cool, cool. I've been eager to see where they're going with this Red Tornado stuff for a while now.

And eventually, it will be revealed that this new Red Torpedo has some tenuous connection to the old one.

Hmm . . .

Red Tornado= wind
Red Volcano= earth
Red Torpedo= water
Red Inferno (last mentioned ages ago by T.O. Morrow)= fire

I'm just waiting for the multicolored disaster corps, so we can have our Yellow Tornados and Green Volcanos and Pink Torpedos and then they can all go to war with each other.

Am I the only one who couldn't help but face palm at the name "Red Torpedo?"
As soon as I saw that name I thought "It's either a chic, or it's gonna be one of the most gay-joke oriented super heroes DC has ever created."

She has a good look, but I just can't get that excited for this series. Perhaps when it gets closer to release I'll change my mind, but right now I've no plans to pick it up, especially with Blackest Night and all its various tie-ins in full swing by the time #1 hits. If nothing else, I just won't have the money to spare.

During Meltzer's run they had multi-colored Tornados. Each color represented a different power

It will give rise to a new saying:

As useless as the **** on the Red Torpedo.

Really kind of weird. All these robot women that are sexy. Why?

Eeesh , looks like major fail to me.

If DC wants a female robot , bring back Mekanique.
