i'm pretty much talking about everything that isn't the Hood or Hood-related. it's all very hard to keep track of. who are the leading crime families? who are the "dons" of these families? who are their enforcers? if you're knowledgable about the Maggia or the New York mobs, please help me straighten some stuff out.

am i right in thinking that cyborg Silvermane's kid (Joey) took over running his organization? is Don Fortunato still around? the venom symbiote killed his boy Angelo. was Jimmy-6 killed, as well? who does Tombstone work for? is Madame Masque still affiliated with the Maggia? how about Grim Reaper? inquiring minds want to know. :)

Madame Masque and Grim Reaper don't appear to be exploiting their Maggia connections these days. Beyond that, I dunno. Between the Kingpin keeping everyone under his thumb and the Punisher doing what he does, there can't be a lot of big fish left in the New York non-superhuman organized crime pond.

Outside New York, though, I'd imagine things are different. Silke, the guy who tried to overthrow the Kingpin in Bendis's first Daredevil storyline, was the son of a high level mobster from New Jersey. That guy probably gets away with (no pun intended) murder.

i'm just surprised that they don't try to establish a more consistent hierarchy. there are a thousand character who are Maggia(or Hydra)-affiliated. but in what capacity?

i'm just surprised that they don't try to establish a more consistent hierarchy. There was a hierarchy, originally. The Nefaria, Silvermane, and Hammerhead families, etc. Superheroes wrecked it.

In the MU, criminal organizations basically only exist for superheroes to demolish. The most consistent is the Kingpin's, and he's regularly dethroned. If a Maggia hierarchy were to be re-established, I'd bet it'd happen in the course of a story arc about a superhero bringing down the Maggia's hierarchy.

This is why i miss Kingpin as the crime boss. He was a great leader of undeground, back in the day he was dangerous superheroes like DD.

who does Tombstone work for?

I'm pretty sure I've seen him working with the Hood in the New Avengers books.

fair enough. his bio said he was mostly an enforcer for Hammerhead.

Yeah this is one of the many cool thing that Marvel had that sort of disappeared after a while.
