Jason and Mal look on, with something akin to shock on their faces, seemingly wondering how Sam will handle Andy's challenge to his authority...

"It isn't about vengence. It's about believeability. You really think the authorities are going to be convinced by a puddle of blood? I'd laugh my ass off if that's the case. Gimme that!"
Andy grabs the sedative from Sam's belt.
"You're damn lucky I only got one good arm."
Andy walks back mumbling to himself. The only clear word being "hypocrite". Andy then jabs the sedative into Mousaki.
"You guys mind helping me strip him so I can get some work done and we can go?"
"I dinnae care whoot they believe! I thoot we'd create some confusion, noot fool a-"
Sam breaks off and throws his hands up a little, seeing that Mousaki is still bleeding. He grabs some bandages presses them against Mousaki's wound, gesturing for the others to help, presumably under Andy's medical direction.
"Well, I guess you dinnae cut anything off, and technically this counts as drawing blood," he muses as the group gets Mousaki patched and loaded up into the vehicle.
"If I hoove to build him a cybernetic leg, though, I... actually...." He shakes the momentary gleam of envisioned circuits and fiberous pseudo-muscles out of his eyes.
"Let's joost get book home ta the Moonshadow so Roosty ken pump himself with happy juice fer his wounds. The middle o' a roon is noo place ta discuss this."
Long pause as Jason begins driving.
"Boot ta get it on record... I'm right."

The trip back to the Moonshadow is uneventful; with an unconscious Mousaki, and no one stopping the crew along the way. A few hours later, the ATV pulls up to where the Moonshadow had been hidden away. After loading the ATV into the cargo bay, and a quick systems check to make sure everything is okay, the Moonshadow is ready for take-off. Jason can either take off immediatly, or wait until dawn; in the former case, the burn-off from the engine thrust may catch someone's attention in the nearby settlement of Ammag, while waiting for daybreak would make that less likely, but would also mean waiting for a few extra hours, which might prove problematic on its own, if by chance someone has been following them...

Sam considers and decides, "I think we ken take off noo. Sure somebody might see our thrusters in tha' dark, but that's a loot better than seeing an actual ship in tha' daytime."
He looks around. "Anybody goot a good reason to think otherwise?"

David sits back. "nah. Let's do it." he begins working on the controls "you know... we rock. I mean, did any of you guys think before we went into cryo we'd be kidnapping telepathic crimelords from out of the hands of the authorities?"
David looks about "I mean heck. I didn't think I had it in me."

Andy trys to secure Mousaki the best that he can and then hits the com panel. "Isa. I'm gonna buckle in and sedate myself. The artificial adrenaline is wearing. Once we jump, I'll need you to take out these slugs." He then lays in a med cot, secures and shoots sweet sleep into his veins.

Sam opens the door to the med bay and leans in. "Man, whoot are you saying? Isa isnae-"
He breaks off upon seeing Andy's painful, drug-filled slumber.
"Oh moon, he's more oot of it than I thought. Maybe it's better that he sleeps through this," the engineer remarks softly to himself.
Heading back through the corridors, Sam tramps down the stairs into the cargo hold where the teraport engine is and hits the com. "Sam here. Are yo ready fer the joomp, David?"
Upon getting an affirmative, Sam flips a few switches, turning on several screens. Then he races quickly around the hold, activating various strange devices. Gyroscopes move in odd fashions and levers vibrate back and forth in no discernable pattern. There's even a test tube of strange blue liquid that seems semi-solid, slowly creeping up the tube's glass walls.
Sam hits a microphone. "All right, all clean up these notes later. This is thae fourth testing of the teraport. We'll be making a short jump ta meet oop with inbound craft tha Midnight Run as it heads in-system. Experiments seventeen through twenty-seven in place and ready to record." He follows this by noting the date and time.
Then he hits the intercom again. "Countdoon, ten, nine, eight, seven, six, five , four, three, two, one-"

There is the usual feel of being pulled apart in every direction at once, this time mercifully not lasting very long, and then the ship reassembles itself in deep space. Sam leaves it up to David to check the coordinates and verify their position.
He heads back up to the medical bay and finds a certain strapped down figure, eyes closed. Sam begins knocking a couple of fingers against the man's cheek, encouraging him to wakefulness.
"Mousaki. Yoo-hoo, Mousaki. Johoon. Wakey-wakey.
"Time fer oos ta talk."

According to David's calaculations, Isa should be bringing in the Midnight Wind to this location within about 24 hours.

"Hollis was doomed after the war... we were just too stubborn to know we were dead. There was no way we could truly prosper legally, what with being on the Teslan governemnt's bad side. "As for where I'm going next, that depends, I suppose, on where you'll be going after leaving Tesla. I know a few worlds where I can make a new start. But before I can do that, there's a matter of payment." He takes a nearby notepad, and scribbles some words and numbers on them. "Bank account codes with the appropriate passwords. I won't be needing them anymore, seeing as I'll never be setting foot on Tesla again, if all goes well."

Sam takes the notepad. Then he puts it down and raps on it a few times as while thinking. Keeping his hands occupied, he fills a glass of water and gives it to Mousaki to sip on before settling back into his seat.
"Hollis might be doomed as a droog company... but we and your wee assistant Amanda Haynes think it might hoove great potential as a star drive manufacturer." He pauses as this sinks in.
"I dinnae know if you already figured this oot, boot thoot little trip book from Troy was the first chance I hood to test the teraport system. I suppose it would have been wise ta wait, boot I couldnae control my impatience. A character flaw, I admit.

Sam pauses again and this time looks at Mousaki very intently. He speaks slowly, eliminating his accent for clarity. "It hood- had been my intention to drop you back on Troy, Johann. "How much working capital do you have?" he finally asks. "Including what you will have if you do sell the Midnight Wind. You see, it occurs to me that, with Hollis stock going into the toilet at the moment, you could quite possibly buy controlling interest in the company, if not purchase it outright." Mousaki pauses as he lets that set in. "Of course, gauging when the best time to make your buy-out offer will be made easier if you have someone who knows the Hollis market inside and out," he adds, tapping his finger to the side of his forehead.
"Trust might come a bit easier if you're the one in charge. From there, you can transform Hollis into a company that can mass-produce your teraports. Granted, it will take time, but then, anything worthwhile does."
"As for myself... and I'll be the first to admit that whatever you come up with is fairer than I deserve... there are a couple of different options to play with. Troy is off the table... that's the first place someone would look for me, and I would just as well not cause any further grief for the Troyians. As for Rivendale, well, you may have meant it as a threat, but it's not a bad option, actually. I've got some contacts there, and it would be easy to lay low there. Also, more 'hidden business' occurs there than you may realise. If you want me a little further away, but still within the confines of the Concordant, either Blackthorne or Shawsgate could work, as well."
He sits back, as if further contemplating the situation Sam has put before him, calculating the different variables and the potential risk/reward thereof.

Withoot meaning to get a swollen head, I think I've shown I'm a pretty resourceful and dangerous fellow. If you try ta screw me over, I'll make you pay... or at least, give it the ole' Starfall try. Work with me, and I think we ken both get what we want. What I want...."
He pauses and puffs air from his lungs in a sigh. "Roosty over there-" Sam waves a hand a Andy, laid back on his med-bed. "Roosty says that interstellar civilization is falling apart, ever since this war I slept through. Fewer ships traveling the systems, indoostrial bases falling apart, governments trying to clamp down hard on what they hoove and pulling apart. In a few decades most o' Known Space could look like our friends on Troy... only withoot the nice beaches.
"Maybe one piece of technology cannae change thoot... boot maybe it can. Cheaper, more direct routes between systems. Worlds closer together in travel time. Frontiers opening oop. "I do agree that the teraport has the potential, if handled correctly, has the potential to revive the worlds that were part of the old Empire. It was always trade that was the lifeblood of the old Empire; not the military, and not the nobility, but trade. Mind you, even if it does work, we probably won't see the full effect of it in our lifetime... it's always more difficult to build or re-build than it is to destroy."
"Your main problem is that every government and corporation is going to want your new toy, and they're going to want it exclusively. So I think you're going to need to fly under the radar for a bit, until you can market your invention from a position of strength."
"If you have enough funding to get a majority share of Hollis without selling the Midnight Wind, then I suggest you don't sell her, but instead refurbisher her with one of your teraport drives. Get a crew you can trust to keep their mouths shut for a little while. Make some money, build up some more capital for this long-term venture. Maybe refurbish the C.A. Smith as well, if that's an option, or any other ships you can salavage. Also, if you know of any crews who are smart enough to take advantage of something like this while keeping quiet, you can sell them the teraport, maybe set up a trade agreement with them to move and sell Hollis material to other worlds."
"Then, after you've built up a strong enough support system for this little endeavor, preferably with bases on multiple worlds so that a single attack by an enemy won't completely wipe you out, you go public, after which the real fun begins."
"At least, that's how I would do it..."

"I think Sam, that you've got a real knack at persuading your enemies to switch sides. This is the second time this has happened." Davids smiles and toasts Sam with his hip flask. "Anyway... David suddenly blinks as inspiration hits.
"Now here's a thought. I'm not sure how commodities markets work in this post apocalyptic future, but considering the fact we can out run the news, I bet we can make a killing insider trading, If your conscience doesn't preclude that kinda trickery."

"as far as I know we're waiting for them... though perhaps we should drop by a hospital or something first..." David looks at Andy's wound in concern.
"nuh-uh," Andy says as he works some gauze gingerly into the wound before bandaging "nngghh. Can't risk it. It'll be a crap shoot. Might end up being looked after by the farmer's son who has a penchant for amputation. Can't have a one armed medic now can we? Look bad for the crew." Andy clumsily bandages himself up and looks around "I don't think we have an extraction kit either, do we?"
